beyond that it seemed like a standard fighting video - Celes going in against enemies with greater numbers yet Celes prevailed, blah blah blah.

The fact that they are engaging enemies in greater numbers was what impressed me. Lots of movies posted here are just ego stroking gank fests.

yeah pretty much every video that comes along these days is all about "oh look at us, aren't we so good at eve" and thats what this is. i agree it is a variation on a theme being that celes may have been outnumbered but the fact remains that celes are trying to show how good they are even against a larger force.

im just giving my opinion on the video, you cant please everybody all the time, but thats what makes a good argument Smile

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT! I want to know why it's there and how it gets there Confused

And I have answered it over and over again. Wink

The "lock-icon" at the top of the screen can only "hold" 8 module-icons (2 columns with 4 modules in each). When you have 4 or less modules activated on a lock they appear big, when you activate the 5'th they get smaller and becomes 2 columns, right? If you have 8 modules activated and are activating the 9'th one there is no room for it's icon on the "lock-icon" so it appears big on the right side of the screen. Same thing for the 10'th, 11'th and so on. Has nothing to do with FRAPS.

We Scorp-pilots se that all the time Very Happy

the M.Corp video was good because it was well cut and was different to most vids - it had npc hunting, podding, mining , basically a bit of EVERYTHING.

Also there arent many movies out there of people losing - poeple post threads on the forums saying "yeah had my 1st pvp last night and lost but thanks to all involved cos it was fun!" and people give them respect for standing up and saying it was fun even if they got killed.

there are plenty of other types of movies out there other than "w00t we r teh 1337" eg the north star networks hauling video - another amazing and original video that was so damn funny!as well as the video of the battle bestower that killed the ceptor.

good quality and good material make a good movie, just look at the drunkenmasters old movies (Yulai, Crielere) - really well edited and shot and make for some really good viewing. the world of eve movie is another good example - action and beauty all in one!

a good movie is more than just watching ships get blown up or originaltity - it is greater than the sum of its parts!

i dont know what to say to give you definiative points on how to make a good movie since i have only made one (mine) but i have an idea of how to make them even if my first wasnt the best in the world.

Just a few points:

1. Celest is a PvP corp, we make PvP videos. Thus no mining, hauling etc.

2. The M.corp video was a recruitment video, that's why it had a little bit of everything. It's incredible, but then again Zond3 did not log on for weeks when he was editing it, Loctar logs on to fight every day.

3. It's very hard to fraps and fight at the same time (since if you zoom out or in on another ship you can't effectively pilot your own ship). We don't have a dedicated camera man, which is what drunkenmaster was at the incidents you mentioned, which is why the footage was maybe better.

I think this is definitely one of the better PvP vids, since it didn't concentrate on ego-boosting ganking, and it had a bit of a story in it too.

Oh, and the music fit it perfectly IMO. We've had far too many nu-metal PvP vids already.

PS. Boonaki pulled a very nice Battle Badger Vs. Taranis recently... too bad he couldn't fraps it.

seriously I saw a CA apoc boost it's shields...this is typical? some super pirate mods or soemthing that make it possible to do that well?

please explain *I is confused*

err.. I was heading up after shooting some npc when i was asked if i wanted to help out. So the answer to your question is no, it's not uber at all Embarassed But it's a great setup when u hunt npc's though.
I was really lucky to get out alive since i hadn't insured that apoc at the time when the video was taken.

It was gr8 fun though - hope to meet celest again ... and again YARRRR!!

Really neat video! You've done a great job timing the music and the events in the movie, that's what impressed me the most! Also I love to see, or rather hear, that someone is brave enough not to put some lame and crappy "heavy" music in the vid like just about everyone else.

Great job!

Alright, covering up your modules to hide your config and not covering the target icons is one thing, FORGETTING to cover the modules at the end of the movie is another.

Why cover up the whole thing in the first place?

The problem here isn't that the Das Boot techno version from U96 is particularly bad (if you happen to like that sort of thing). It's just that it's a tricky piece to make fit well with a movie since it has rather a lot going on in the actual song - the music should only at most take one third of the viewers' attention, it should be a complement, a means of highlighting the visual action.

Nice vid though, overall.
