I have a dream! A dream where the Keres can take down ships much larger in size on it's own (technically).

High:

2x NOS, named or otherwise

Mid:

2x Sensor Dampeners - Optimal Range Script
1x Named Web
1x Named Warp Disruptor
1x Named AB

Low:

2x Signal Amplifier
1x Nano, or Armor plate (Not sure yet)

Basically, This ship would jump into a mission after scanning out the mission with a Covert Ops ship, then jumping back to grab the Keres. Once inside the mission the Keres would AB up to the unsuspecting mission runner (Likely in a BS), activate the dampeners to mess up his range on his targets (and hopefully on the Keres), and latch on with the Nos for cap sustain/drain, and then turn on all modules (web/jammer). The Keres would then orbit at a nice transversal velocity, while basically holding the target's ship down, while the enemies he still has aggro on beat him senseless, hopefully into oblivion.

Now, would a mission runner (I'm sure some can perma tank the enemy), but the ones that cannot... could they fall to such a devious plot?

Would the drones tear up my little Keres like butter? Can I combat the drones in any effective way?

Is my idea completely senseless, though creative?

Anyone else have any ideas to make this idea a functional reality?

Use an Arazu if you want to do what you just described.

You could do it this way, it would take time and make that mission runner sweat but as the poster above said, you might as well take an arazu.

If the target is using light drones you will die. Looking at your fitting I cannot see how you would combat them. Even the crappiest t1 warriors will kill you because you have no tank.

EAS are bad without a gang - they are support ships. Furthermore you don't know how much aggro you will get from the rats.

2 dampeners will not reduce locking range below your nos range. So when you try to nos the enemy, you'll get locked on...and when you get locked on you are gone.

I figured most mission runners are using a longer range assault fit. Perhaps it would be better to not reduce their range at all, in this case, as to not bring the falloff closer to where my ship is orbiting? What if I actually INCREASED their range instead, to make it even harder for them to pewpew me?

Drones will tear me up...

I'll try to think of something with the Arazu then. ;)

This should work well and you can even add some dps to the rats to make sure that the tank breaks. Maybe invest into a Domination warp disruptor for added safety.

Choice of drones is a bit of a gamble. With 40 m you either choose Hammerheads and cannot defend against enemy light drones or you go for Warriors/Hobgoblins and miss some dps.
