Yes T2 ogres are nice, but T2 sentries especially bouncers are fantastically useful for roaming 0.0 gangs.

I recommend T2 sentries.

If you're looking at jumping into an Ishtar, there are some neat things you can do with sentries by making use of the Ishtars range bonus.
Hitting out to 120km+ at 500dps+ on a maneuverable HAC, priceless...

Getting jammed by a falcon alt when you've got them into hull... Evil or Very Mad

Do sentry drones not keep attacking when you're jammed, as other drones do?

All drones attack while you are jammed. This includes sentries.

Try the drone damage rigs.

I have just started a new character and am planning on tranining him directly to the Dominix and use him to run missions alongside my main who will be flying a Typhoon. I use Tech II heavys for whatever damage on my main, and now this thread has me wondering what I should use for my Dominix alt pilot in level 4 missions.

Should I go for heavies or sentries for mission running? I was thinking that I would have the Domi orbit my main account and remote rep him so I could put more damage mods on my Typhoon and lessen its tank. Would sentrys perform better in this capacity or heavys?

If you're set on using two accounts in missions, the Domi can fit a far superior tank without having any significant effect on it's damage.

The choice between sentries and heavies isn't easy. Sentries take down approaching npcs, bs, and bc faster, while heavies handle close orbiting ships, cruisers, and, more importantly, HACs better. T2 Sentries take about 26 days (sentry exclusive drone skills), while T2 heavies take 25 days, plus 1 week for each racial spec (you'll want at least Gallente and Minmatar).

Heavies:
Travel time for heavies is too much and you need to train drone spec skills of all races to 4 to make use of all damage types. When in missions they can cause unwanted aggro and when you need to gtfo waiting for them sucks. For pvp they have serious speed problems and have low hitpoints.

Sentries:
No travel time. In your face DPS. They are easier to control nowadays due to additional drone commands. Keep them on passive in missions and you will not get any unwanted aggro. For pvp they rock. Instant dps. They have higher hitpoints than heavies too.

Cancel whatever you are training and go train sentry drones to V now. You'll thank me later.
