Hey, here's my plan with skills for next month. I want to get my Starship Engineering up to level 5 to squeeze more RP out of research agents. Along with that, work with higher level research agent (working with level 2 right now) and I was wondering if its worth having to increase my connection skill level to 5. |

What else would you do with those SPs? If 2 weeks of something else will earn you more money than Connections 5 then no. It's not worth it. If not, then Yes. Your call. |

My understanding is that training Connections for IV to V will increase the effective quality of research agents by 1, adding slightly (~1%) to the number of RP you get. Of course if you gain access to higher level research agents by training Connections to V, the benefit will be a lot greater. Originally by: Jeran Tek What else would you do with those SPs? Awesome response! Repeating what Brock asked only more convoluted. |

I have 5 R&D agents grinding me cores and i did use the calculator and came to the conlusion that it's not worth it. I only use one corp agents so they are something like this (not exact numbers, but something in that area):
lvl3 q15 lvl3 q18 lvl4 q13 lvl4 q18 lvl4 q-12
If you want to get more RP's out. Either, do Research project management to V (which will probably take a while...) or start grinding other corps to get the best of the best lvl4s'. Or get an alt...
Also, don't forget negoations, that raises the RP amount ( my lvl3 q12 something...was better than lvl4 q-16 untill i got negoations to lvl4 and that crappy lvl4 started to pour out more RP's. Of course the amount was like from 179,95 to 181,10 etc. So the only major boosts are agent quality and agent amount when you have the rest in IV. So...i would say that go for Research project management. |

Uh? Connections is the skill that gives an effective 4% boost to all your positive standings. The way they're calculated, it's +0.4 at 0.0 standing and only +0.04 at 9.0 standing. So yes it's a useful skill but since you need quite a lot of standing to get access to L4 Q20 agents, I consider the 5th level a waste of time. |

I know that and I assumed Brock knows that, that's why I skipped that step in my answer. But since you're interested: increasing connections increases your standing to the agent which increases the agent's effective quality which increases the Loyalty Research Points you get (and Loyalty Research Points I assume is what Brock is interested in). |

Well my aim is to increase my RP, not LP. Thanks for the comments, I found that negotiation DOES NOT affect your daily RP. |

Really? It used to. My understanding was that Negotiations increases your Effective Quality which affects RP per day. I'll have to go back and run my numbers again. Sorry about the snarkiness of my first reply. I was having a bad day. JT |

Hmm... at least the calculator says that negotiation affects it. Odd. |

Sorry I meant RP above, I'll correct that. I am confused why everyone is suddenly talking about 'negotiation' instead of 'connections'. Whereever I said 'connections', I actually meant 'connections' |
