I've been told running 2 instances of Eve simultaneously is one of the hallmark features of the game. It allows players with two accounts to basically play with and support themselves, and yet, I just tried to log into my new secondary account while my primary was still running (on the same machine) and it said "Connection Refused: While we appreciate your enthusiasm to try Eve, we would also appreciate if you could limit yourself to using a single trail or subscription accounts only."

What's going on here? I've seen other friends of mine use well-known alts logging in at the same time, why can't I?

You can have multiple accounts logged in, but not multiple characters from a single account.

You should know, my new account is still in its trial phase, meaning I'm attempting to run a trial account alongside my subscription account. is that a problem? Also, does it matter if I run them from the same Eve Install, or should I copy/install a new eve client?

You cannot run two (or more) accounts at the same time if any of them is a trial - it does not matter if they're the same install or not. Once all accounts in question are full accounts, you can run as many as your system can handle.

The only way to run a trail account at the same time as any other account (either a paid account or another trail account) is for them to be run from separate computers. As said, you can run as many accounts off one installation as your compute will support - as long as none of them are trail accounts.

So, it's one trail account per computer but as many paid accounts per computer as the machine will run.

Yup. Just FYI, they don't do it to **** you off or to force you to upgrade; it's to cut down on farmer accounts and macros... else thed be nothing stopping them opening 10 accounts per PC and just running trial accounts doing noob missions without paying anything for the game, but selling the isk. This way, if there's farmers in the game, at least they're forced to pay like the rest of us :)

Figured as much Ralarina, thanks. :)

One final question, if I were to convert my 2nd account from a trial to a full would the 30 days get added onto the initial 21, or would I have to wait until the end of the trial days to get its maximum worth?

It is added on but you are immeadiately treated as a full paying customer.
