Sure, if you want to think of it like that.
I like flying the dominix but id like something faction also, so i can show off how much time i play the game and how much isk i can waste on pointless ships.

Like... the dominix? Ok it's not faction but what more do you want? The thing can pump out 1600 DPS, it can fit a nos/neut setup, it has an amazing tank, it's easy to train for, it has a huge drone bay.... What do you think is missing that warrents a faction ship? |

A long time ago I made up a faction close to the rogue drones as a Amarr/Gallente mix. Called them The Seekers of the Void (yeah it's a bit cheesy but it fits). As the thread is looked due to age you might want to comment here on them. |

Would be awesome if you could fly one of those infested Domi's as a faction ship. (Consider rogue drones the faction, I suppose.) My only worry it that being faction it could very easily be overpowered since the domi's so strong already.
Maybe just add a drone control range bonus and slightly higher resists or something. |

Sorry to say the entire idea of rogue drone faction ships is... bizarre. If drones did go rogue, I'm pretty sure the ships won't be suited to adapt a pod pilot. All other factions are driven by humaniod(or derevations thereof, hello Sansha! o/). There are plenty of factions/sub factions that does not have any ships, leave the rogue drones alone.
Heck make them mercenary ships? SoE? Mordus? Interbus? Just leave my **** drones alone! |

Actually, rogue drones would be more suitable to use for pod ships than human-built ships for the simple fact that carving out the AI of a drone ship and inserting a pod is much simpler than replacing a whole ship's crew. The problem, however, is that rogue drones aren't going to be carrying around BPCs to build brainless rogue drones with convenient pod slots nor are they going to take well to someone flying up in a heavy assault ship and saying, "Dood, got any missions for me??" Until CCP releases mechanics by which you can forcibly take over ships, which I doubt will ever happen, rogue drone ships taken over by us to fly is a bit of a pipe dream. Any rate, however, I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of new pirate factions, perhaps one that specializes in drones and missiles and, for laughs, a projectile/laser hybrid race. Just imagine, your partner's pounding away from long distance with 5 fully bonused sentry drones and 6 cruise launchers while you race into close-range with ACs and pulse lasers. |

Actually, simply replace the current AI model with the sentient AI of the Rogue Drone or actually leave the one installed intact and change override command protocols to the pod and pilot. This, of course, would require its consent but that is to be expected. A union between the two races in which suitable candidates are "bonded" to a craft specifically chosen for them through either pre-selection or actually "growing" specific to the needs of the candidate. Though I dont expect either race to pursue this vision as the governments of the various factions chafe now at the pod pilot community and their seeming complete freedom to do as they please. Nor do they relish the idea of another species competing for the same resources in their are and therefore a threat. Nor can I imagine the Rogue Drones having any trust in those that label them as only malfunctioning machines without rights or respect for sentience. No, the joining of a pod pilot and a Rogue Drone ship will have to be something more then just a shopping spree or hanger ornament for an overprivileged pod pilot. It will actually be the start of a new race through the combination of two unlike races and as such will happen in other way outside the exchange of isk or favors. ... sorry. I ramble. Pardon me. |
