So yeah, maybe I shouldn't of done it, but a friend and I were testing some stuff, and basically, we assigned fighters, and then the carrier pilot docked, the drones just disappeared, never to be seen again.

Where the fek did they go and is there anyway to get them back?

See, this is where rogue drones come from.

Try probing them out. Petitions might work but probing will be a lot faster and you can bet that if they are in space abandoned, others will probe them out and steal them.

They ewarp to a safespot, so it's time to break out the probes and hunt them down if you want to find them ugh

They warp to a 1000 AU, you NEED astrometrics 5.

P.S. They don't warp as a group to one 1000 AU safespot, each and every fighter goes off in a different direction 1000AU.

Its nice for deep safes tho :P

The real question is why the hell would the carrier pilot dock with his fighters assigned he's just asking to lose them.

they arent really drones, fighters are piloted by a single pilot. they are more or less a smaller version of frigates. although from a gameplay point of view they behave the same way as drones does.

I'm too poor to own a carrier and as such I do not experience this problem with fighters of which you speak.

Go out in a Domi or any other ship with a large dronebay, then release massive amounts of T2 drones, dock, reload and repeat. That way you can get the same experience. Mail me if you'd like suggestions for systems and times to do this.

WTB explanation for the Wong Thong Crew. Is it the ex-Garmonites' new alliance of choice or something?

The fighters turn up after the next downtime close to where you've lost them, so I'd advise you to be at the station in a few hours. Before that they just jump out a million kilometers just like any ship that disconnects, so probing is possible.

As was said, they warp off to 100AU ish (not 1000)

Have fun scanning them out (drop observator to get close and then use closer range probes)

That's what they tell you, but have you ever actually seen a fighter pilot? Stop falling for that drone propaganda!

If you zoom in close enough you will, indeed, see the fighter pilot.

Try getting out of empire once in a while, might do you some good.

Pff! We've all seen that inflatable pilot in Airplane. I can't believe you fell for that ruse.

Not keeping up with current events, are we? Wink

Also, I saw a couple of Einherji much too up-close yesterday and would like to avoid ever doing that again, thankyouverymuch.

^^ This

The same is true if you have Fighters chasing someone in system and your Carrier gets blown up. So if you're ever losing your Carrier, try to get all Fighters on someone who warps away. Then the next day you can reclaim them and save yourself 50 Mill or so.
