just so you know it was "chains of chaos" that sucked and is almost totally gone.
you guys complaining about the "dishonor" have got to be kidding. Who are you? If I offered you 200k to spare a cruiser would you leave? It isnt worth it. Pop it. Ransom needs to be negotiated and agreed upon. Stupidity should not be rewarded. If a dozen people bought the ship a dozen people should have escorted it out. Plus if you notice a fleet landed and killed it. They didnt get paid.
All your "you have no honor" peeps dont get that LS is a pirate. If you encourage scams you encourage the same or worse behavior. Grow up and stop pretending you have some kind of honor code. Seriously, what if i just gave you a random amount of isk, would you stop shooting me? If you dont pay enough you dont keep your ship. |

To answer your question - of course not if the amount is not right, and as no payment was requested, personally I might be tempted to consider it a gift  But it's a different situation if I asked you to pay and still blew up your ship after receiving what I asked for. You see the difference, don't you? |

You said in op, that you ask for a ransom.
It was a friggy indy ship and you had a hic on it.
It can't shoot or rep, so if the amount was not enuf you should of asked for more or at least gave the isk back.
The run ins i have had with coc n the past were gf's, no smack and pretty decent guys.
You are putting them to shame.
All us real pirates honour ransoms,

You have missed the point. People aren't complaining about the dishonoured ransom on moral grounds, but because it's bad for the pirate business in general.
If victims are led to believe that it's not worth paying a ransom because they get cheated, they won't pay the next pirate that offers the same option.
Surely that should be of no concern to someone who does not ask for ransoms, such as the OP. Note I always honour my ransoms, but there is a little of whining going on in this thread. Nice Kill. |

Hmm - perhaps I'm reading it wrong, but I see the victim start begging for his ship and throwing ISK around, and the OP getting his Alts to say "give me some too!" to let the victim think that there might be more people to pay off...
Without a convo, I can't say for certain he ransomed anybody, so I honestly can't say he's in the wrong here.
What I can say is that there is a serious lack of recognizable faces posting in this thread - 'cept Veto and Nexxus (and that guy's everywhere!) - posting about 'dishonored ransoms', so I'm letting it slide until someone proves otherwise.

Just to clarify. I didn't ask for a ransom. He sent me 200 mil begging me to let him go, after he said he had no money. My alts said "where's my 200 then?". For someone who said they were skint he paid another 400 mil quickly enough.
But this is besides the point. You assume I'm a pirate. I'm not. I don't rely on ransoms for isk, the loot more than covers my costs by far.
My sole intention is to kill everything that moves, or die trying. Where's the room for honour in that? If I did decide to start ransoming I'd still kill them anayway.
I've been in every profesion in eve, from miner to explorer. By far the most fun I've had is killing folk stupid enough to come into losec. Sure, on occasion I get my ass handed to me, but it's always fun. If I was allowed in hisec I'd do the same there.... but Concord seem to take offence :)
To those who have a brush shaft up thier ass over my lack of "honour" or not following some imagined pirate code... get a life. Any dumb **** who sits for 5 mins trying to jump a cap through a gate deserves to be podded. |

To add content, you didn't dishonour a ransom if the word ransom wasn't directly mentioned and you didn't specifically say something to the effect of "I will let you go for ISK". |
