Indeed. There was one intelligent character there and I bet you a million quid he gets killed off within 5 episodes. Every other character was annoying. I will not be watching he second episode.

i can't believe how bad this is. if anything it shows that if a lethal bug breaks out you better hope you die 'cos all the survivors will be insepid bores from the bbc's casting department.

Was a load of steaming turd. I watched through the first hour, and then when it got to 10:05 I was like "hold on, wtf is this **** going on for ANOTHER 30 mins?" and just turned it off. Awful acting, far too long and incredibly boring and obvious.

Will not be tuning in on Tuesday, or ever.

I once watched an episode of survivor.

Then 10 minutes in I realized it had absolutely ****ing nothing to do with real survival and was just full of self-absorbed douchebags who all think the world should just give them 1 million dollars and kiss their asses. I walked away from my TV set slowly wondering what I could've done in that 10 minutes that just got wasted and the 10 thousand brain cells that just died a horrible death.

I mean seriously, a show about a few people surviving on a deserted island would just be badass. But so far every show that picks up this line has failed miserably because they can't just stick to what surviving on an island would actually be about. And honestly, don't get me started on Lost. That show makes me want to drive my head through several sheets of plywood.

EDIT: We are talking about Survivor the reality show, right? Shocked

No, Survivor the BBC programme about people after the Apocalypse, where everyone but a few hundred thousand have died.

I'll be watching the second episode but they had better not pull any punches. I'm interesting in the whole survivalist thing and want to see what problems the script writers are going to throw at them and their solutions.

I wasn't disappointed by the acting, but you can tell it's a BBC program can't you - a little bit of each race / religion and the only white anglosaxon male is a twisted sicko, even though he probably redeems himself (probably by conveniently dying).

Obviously the mother is going to survive the whole series - she is the key to the virus as she got sick then survived.

The bit where that guy called her "boss" though was pants. People don't just get assumed to be leader like that, it should have taken longer after more challenges.

I still have a videotape of the first episode of the original (70s) series. I am also going to look out for DVDs - if the BBC has any idea about marketing, they should be bringing them out soon.

i watched the first ep, thought ohh this has the makeup of a epic mini drama, so i happily sit there watching, all good till... well one they always stick to the damn same format, has to be a nutter guy who kills the other people, then they cut to the lab where they imply they done it all, the ones who actually have a great plan which could work get bullied into doing the crappy idea, its just plain BS

best mini drama ever? the second coming, chris ecklson(sp) that was plain awesome
