Sure it's half-res from 1080p, but it looks good. Kudos to Chaos Incarnate for uploading it though.

As for a 1080p version, my guess is CCP will put it up on their site either tomorrow or tuesday.

Didn't miss it, just posted it for the handiness factor (linking, embedding, etc).

"Steve....?"
"Yes, Claire?"
"Did they just fire a doomsday class weapon on everyone including their own fleet?"
"It appears so, Claire."
"Well, isn't that pretty damn stupid?"
"..."

"What happened to our camera ship?"
"It popped with the DD, Claire."
"I think it was desynched. Can the producer petition it please?"

"O wait Claire we have contact with our backup camera ship"
"It seems to still be stuck in a loading screen while attempting to jump into the system"
"We are actually now not sure if it is still alive"

For a start trailer of eve and eve game play are slightly different.
for a start numbers. secondly fleets seem to come at each other old style like to lines.

thirdly warp ins and outs are very rarely seen(personally can't recall ever seeing 1).

So for those who are being large piles of dufas. the Titan DD's over the Kador fleet.
it cyno's in on a separate field to the gal fleet.
And for RP and general story telling/good trailer purposes this would be construed as it Doomsdayin the kador fleet and being out of range of the Navy fleet.

On the Scale of these trailers. Any CGI Animator will tell you that they wish they could give you more. but its hard time consuming tedious work and i can imagine that they have easily been working since the day they stopped on the empyrean age trailer untill probably a day or two b4 fanfest on this one.

it looks liked through a jump portal for smaller ships, I saw some frigs and cruisers and BS's in there also.

There were three cynos in that first sequence - the second and third were partially obscured by the first - each for a separate fleet, perhaps. Then, of course, there is the field the Titan came through.

Yea after watching it again a few more times I see that also, so there was really 4 cynos, 3 for normal ships / caps, and a few mom's and one over the hostile fleet for the titan.

Funny thing is, I didn't see a doomsday go off, all I saw was a black hole looking thing at the end.. Umm

A big thing to keep in mind, given the population slant of highsec to low sec, how many people do you think play this game who've never seen us big boys pop into a system?

Bet the number would surprise you.

Lol, yes I joked. Laughing
I'm a capital pilot myself, but way back when I was a new player myself I crapped myself when I first saw a cyno. I thought it was some kind of electrical black hole that was going to suck up my ship. I bugged out everytime I saw one, lol.

Hey, don't complain to me, YOU'RE the ones that chose to play the Religious Extremists and/or Corporate Oligarchists (turned Space Fascists). It's like Al Quaeda and the Nazis complaining about bad press. It's kinda hard to work up alot of sympathy for ya.

or at least once a week with 30 minutes or so, and have those people be in 'The Scope' corp and have them all around the universe, being at every big fight and stuff. that would be so cool ^^

First time I saw a Cyno in action, I was the recon pilot dropping the thing, with a Caldari Carrier jumping on top of me.

Were some tense moments, 34 jumps through low-sec (6 or 7 for the Carrier) in a Pilgrim with an untanked Chimera following behind. I nearly had a heart-attack when on the second to last cyno a Curse and Ishtar came zooming along to check me out. Very Happy Thankfully a Chimera with it's fighters out made them reconsider an attack. Laughing

Awesome Expansion video is, as always, awesome.

As much as I miss the player involvement we used to have in the storyline via in-game events, these certainly carry things forward very, very nicely instead. Excellent production work once again.

I'm also going to take a moment to "lol" at the small crowd of "OMG U DD'd YOUR OWN FLEET ROFL NOOB" "OMG MILITARY EXPERTS LOL CYNO NOOB" posting.

Here is why:

1) Yes, the Federation Titan did fire a DD - if you look closely, you'll note it came in above the Amarr fleet to do it.

This wasn't a player in-game, it is a cinematic - not the same thing - so some liberties are going to be taken when it comes to how you've seen things work during regular play. Get over it, as the idea that the Gallente purposely or accidentally nuked their own fleet is highly unlikely and it doesn't make you look smarter for saying it.

2) The video is a in-character broadcast which is intended to go out all across the EVE galaxy. The great majority of those watching aren't going to be Pod Pilots or in any sort of military, they're the planetary dwellers who'll likely never set foot on a starship or a station. Not everyone is going to know what a cynosural field looks like and an organization as large as the Scope is going to have all kinds of experts ready to explain what is being seen by the audience.
