Based on the great EVEMon I have made a very early testing application to monitor your industrial jobs.

Updated Nov 13th 2008

Update notes:

  • Datadump version updated to Quantum Rise data

  • A lot of the exceptions that were thrown in alpha testing are now caught

  • Errors are now given to the user for less confusing behaviour

  • 64-bit operating systems can now use EveSI

  • Starting EveSI twice will no longer throw fatal exceptions

  • EveSI will now cache your industry jobs across restarts

  • Link to API key in the Add Character form works as expected

  • Orca bpo image is NOT yet included, no exception is thrown for missing bpo images now

  • ML/PL are now right-aligned and shouldn't overlap blueprint names

  • Datadump was severely reduced making the zip file only 18MB in size

  • I probably missed some other stuff too

Requirements:
* .NET Framework >= 2

To install just unpack the zip file into a directory on your hard disk and run EveSI.exe. Unfortunately the characters you have already added will be removed. The next update will feature a patch mechanism to avoid this AFTER the next release.

Screenshot:
Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.

Download Link:
http://www.frag-labs.com/EveSI-1.0.0-Beta.zip

Planned features:

  • EveMon style status page when tray icon is hovered

  • When multiple jobs finish you will hear "Yattah!" only once

  • Displaying other corp jobs besides personal jobs

  • Options for proxy servers

  • Support for GateCamper granular API proxy

  • POS fuel status monitor

  • Patch/auto-update

  • ...anything else people want added

It's a Visual Studio 2005 project and written in C# for those interested. An SVN will also be up shortly.

If you have feature suggestions or bug reports please feel free to ask/drop a note here :)

On my PocketPC 2003SE with .NET 2.0 I get:

EveSI.exe
MissingMethodException
File or assembly name 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089', or one of its dependencies, was not found.

I tested it, it looks interesting but need more development.
Until now I noticed:
After loading a char it downloaded the data and looked ok. I closed the app and reopened it, got the "Status: Err". Looks like it overwrited the "apicache" file and now need to wait for another 15 min to download it again.
Also the ML/PL were overlaping the jobs/bpo name.
Just as a note, what I'll love to see in such a app: jobs history and invention statistics.

I don't think the .NET Compact Framework supports this application yet. It is something to look into supporting though. Thank you for testing.

Thank you for taking the time to test the application. It's meant to look very unfinished and incomplete but hopefully you found it useful. The issues you mention are already on the list for fixes this week and a new build should be up soon that will satisfy you a bit more ;)

Thanks, this app is just what I've been looking for :)
I'm doing a lot of jobs per day, so knowing when they end without having to login is gonna help me save time.

Keep up the good work!

[EDIT]

Ok just some possible pointers/improvements:
- Please get rid of the "Yatta"-sound, or make a disable button. The popup/balloon is enough.
- Enable collapse/expanding of the lists
- Sorting by finish time (would be useful)

I know its still in beta so work will need to be done on it. But so far it looks interesting.

Will/can the source code be released for it?

Nice tool.
Too bad that ccp still got some problems with API.

Hope those will be solved soon.

Beta is working much better.

Only thing I can think of that would be much better, is if the full API would bring in all of the corp run jobs, instead of just those assigned to the character who's API is being used.

That way, the corp directors could monitor jobs.

This is pretty fantastic Very Happy

I'd suggest uploading the source code to somewhere like google code so that other people can submit patches more easily.

Hi!

Just tested your app and i liked it. Not that i need it because i only have a couple of jobs... HOWEVER, if your app could be inserted in the evemon app this would be awesome for every reason you can think of.

Some features you could add:
- Ren Adall features seem good add-ons
- #Jobs/Total Jobs
- Start ME/PL End ME/PL in research jobs
- List of BPOs and where?

Will add as soon i can think of more ideas.

Keep the good work.

Cheers

As with most community EVE projects I had low expectations with EveSI. Although, it is obvious that this project is fairly raw, I can see that with a little more work and time, this one will be a winner. Lots of bugs still, but good job so far.

Bugs I noticed:
- Doesn't work well with research alts on same account (you can't add all characters at once, and adding multiple chars on same account creates complaints about "already downloaded, retry"
- Notifies me that a job is done, even though it's actually days from completion.

Future Feature Request:
- Corp tab to look at all corp jobs rather than personal ones

A friend of mine walked me through how to change the YATTA sound, and I have provided two versions.

There is a version created with some voice synth I found online that just says "Research Completed" and another done with a dectalk softsynth so it sounds kind of Stephen Hawking-ish.

http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0901/EveSI-1.0.0-Beta_Voices.zip

To use just extract the files to your EveSI directory and run them instead of the originals.

This is a great idea for an app ... It really needs some more work as it has a few bugs, if these bugs are worked out I will definitely donate to the author of this program

I took a break from EVE for a while but I have plans to see this project to completion now that I'm back.
