I'm confused as to what exactly you want this ship to do. Using HML's sacrifices a fair amount of gank in exchange for lighter fitting requirements and a longer range. Fitting a disruptor on the ship implies you're intending to get close enough to use it, meaning you throw away one of the benifits of HML's. If you intend to actually tackle HAM's are the better choice. Afterall, if you're close enough to hurt something you're close enough to tackle them. Either rejigger the fitting for HAM's or just lose the disruptor for something else.
The web is always a good choice even on a ship that isn't tackling. It's the single best hope you have against really fast ships, presuming you can bring it to bear on targets.
As far as packing a punch goes, keep in mind that a well skilled Drake pilot using damage drones and faction missiles will deliver maybe 450 - 500 DPS using HML's (and by well skilled I'm talking near perfect skills). A HAM Drake can handily deliver bigger numbers in that regard, and several BC's can potentially fit 700 or more DPS. While it's arguable that such DPS output is actually possible in most situations, the HML drake cannot and should not be considered a hard hitter for it's class. |

This really, try it brick lovers if you can stand to feel undertanked for a change. Although I can't help thinking that EM rig is rather heavily stacked, better with another extender surely. |

5x hob IIs or ecm drones
Shield hardener rigs or extender rigs, depending on how rich you're feeling.
~600 DPS with decent skills (674 DPS at 3% implanted max), solid enough buffer tank. Requires AWU IV and a PG implant.
Or you can drop the tackle gear for more hardeners. Keep an extra LSE in cargo for extra tank if you find yourself playing gate/station camping games, where a MWD isn't essential. |

with a PG implant, swapping PDS for DCU is an option but it isn't always worth it. The PDS can be better in a lot of situations, as everything it does is immensely useful to a HAMDrake, though it really depends how you fly it. |

Because it lets you sit on gates with a HIC and gank people I'd say. At least that's a tank drake with a purpose. Plus, when skilled well enough you can pump out over 500 DPS from a HML Drake - something most people disregard. Oddly enough, because my HML skills are substantially better than my HAM skills, I generally opt for HML's. The tiny boost in damage (about 10%) just isnt' worth the substantial reduction in range for the most part. And if the precison heavy missile wasn't a pile of fail there would be very little reason other than pure gank to fit HAM's. |

Because you enjoy people making it back to the gate?  Obvious answer is it tanks gate guns much better than a HAM drake and locks and pops haulers in 1 volley. The only drake I run is your first fit, except w/ a PG implant and a DC, like Cristina's. |

but if you want cheaper as you said instead of using the extender rigs which can double the price of the ship (15mil each i believe) fit kin/therm/therm rigs instead. like 8 mil all together for the rigs and you get better resists (or em/kin/therm depending on what you're up against) |

mine is similar except the low slots are like this: 1 damage control t2 2 bcu t2 1 rcu t2 with resist rigs it has : 460dps 72k ehp and a cost around 60m iski |

The only problem with that is that I pirate in minnie lowsec, and those gates are honking huge. It's really not uncommon for someone to jump with someone and land 45-50km away from them. -Liang |

In terms of price and effectiveness, this is the only way to roll. This setup has seen hundreds of kills. The fitting is very tight, even with good skills but if you can hack it, you'll be very pleased. Just make sure you are packing both EM and Kinetic Rages and Javelins and an extra flight of Warrior IIs.

E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E EXCEPT it's not a buffer tank baby =/ The 1st is considered a buffer tank, the 2nd is considered a passive tank. The latter has mods/rigs specifically to boost shield regen. |
