Is it me or does EvE run smoother now ?
First noticed this after logging in in a busy hub, then i went back home to Jita and it was the same there: almost no lag, market works without delay, items are delivered immediately. There were only 500 people in Jita, but still this absence of lag is quite uncommon, almost disquieting, Jita is not the real Jita without lag, it's like Bangkok without smog.
Anyone else noticed this ?

I am not sure if it is the patch or the fact there are less people on ... but it does have a sense of it yes ..

Yes much smoother i agree, the login the game itself, feels like a car after tune up, oh and i have to really cheer CCP's ideia for the market settings, they are lovely and quite usefull. =)

Check your standings and watch it lag as it loads up all those agent pictures.

Also, it seems like the system-change-lag has been reduced and you can give a new warp command faster, once the new system loads after a jump...

Ack.

Why'd they add agent pictures? I see no point besides slowing things down.

Yeah that was probably a bad call. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing those taken back out, or at least an option to disable them.

From the patchnotes...

A memory leak has been fixed which has resolved the issue of multiple Warp sounds when making multiple warps around a system.
The client will now use less memory during and after combat.

So yeah, less memory, less sounds, less lag.

Less people = less lag.

I heard that turning off your market autoupdate does wonders for system loading times.

It is far too soon to tell if this patch did anything about lag. The plural of anecdote is not data.

As an additional anecdote (or datum, if you will): we had several capitals lag out for about 2-3 minutes while warping 10 AU in a system with 40 people in it and nothing else going on in the surrounding 6 or so jumps in any direction...

It's kind of odd, because until that happened, I would have said it feels snappier. But that desync is evidence to the contrary.

I'd say it's worse - got desyncs while running missions in 30 ppl system. Thought it was my provider, but no, everything else appears fine. They must have reallocated more powah to overloaded systemsConfused

Yep. Session changes seemed to go a bit faster than before patch. Altho there was indeed relatively few people online.

Yeah I could never understand why CCP doesn't set it to not show that.........

And additionally why CCP doens't set it so it doesn't load the standings-page when you first open it (ever). It'll help them AND us (less server load)

Also hopping on the OP-is-a-CCP-alt wagon

Edit: Woah, markets are indeed less laggy now, normally buying or selling something on the forge markets would slowpoke ones client, now it's all smooth :D
Hope it lasts :D
But systems with 100+ (outside jita) are pretty laggy :(

The patch that removed boot.ini fixed the lag as well, temporarily. ;-)
