If you haven't already in a later build you might want to include language specific characters not cyrillic.

No, I won't, because the backend is cyrillic and not UTF-8, I can not do anything about it.
You see what the backend server sends you, and it sends you cyrillic.

Excellent work! However my version is no longer returning any results even with the most obvious search queries :|

Am I doing it wrong? :P

Where exactly is it looking for these music files and how do you make some of the music you have available to others?

Stuff broke a bit again.

v1.5.3
Changelog:
* Fixed song titles not showing up due to vkontakte update
* Fixed sorting by quantity and time not working correctly
* Extend search now automatically sorts after searching

Use the autoupdate or the link in first post. As always, check with an antivirus, so that you do not blame me if your computer blows up due to something completely unrelated to my program Very Happy

I would also like to express my gratitude to those who have donated IRL :)

By all means quote for me, I'd rather not read the entire thread looking for something I might not see for what it is in the first place.

Best i can tell is it grabs the music from a Russian Facebook Clone. There is no way to "add" your music to it for others to download.

Damn, any way or plans to expand the input?

That or I need another tool to get some new tunes. Suggestions anyone?

It's a fine program don't get me wrong, it just doesn't get as many domestic hits as I'd liked, though it gets some and that's impressive if indeed it's from a russian database.

Then it might just be you with a limited frame of reference. Like I said, it doesn't have everything I want.

One should not argue about taste. And saying that someone's frame of reference is limiting is not a very nice thing to do.

The way it works is - people upload music they like to their profile and this program searches through it. So if you can not find everything you need, chances are, that few, if any, russian speakers have heard of it.

Just so you're aware, Ive been getting a bizarre bug for the past couple of versions where the search.exe craps itself randomly and wont open, but if I extract the exe from the zip archive again and paste it over the one in my Music directory, it runs immediately with no issues Confused

As I say there's a workaround so its not a huge deal but I though I should let you know.

Edit: and Wendat, stop moaning, this tool is pulling up incredibly rare DnB tracks you cant even find in professional DJ record stores, if you're that desperate for the latest Hannah Montana song Im sure you can find it elsewhere Laughing

It's your system.
I would say you have a virus on your computer, which infects search.exe.

Due to the way it is packaged, it reads part of the virus and crashes.

All the songs I've searched recently contain no title in the file name. Title is "-" with only the author name.. wasn't like this about 2 weeks ago or more.
