I had fun running some missions and buying the now cheap CNR to play with. Still not the game I want it to be, so I won't be spending any money on EvE. Still has the same old problems. Best stuff is reserved for those who can lead an "EvE lifestyle" rather than play a game. Design of the game provides too many opportunities to the sadistic gamer. That's fine though as it seems to still be profitable and popular. I'm not raging against the ccp machine here, but just letting you know what I and probably others feel about EvE. (I'll resist the common urge to make up a percentage.) There is no shortage of existing and coming online entertainment in this day and age so I'm off to investigate those in a couple of days. Goodbye and thanks for all the mish.....ahem missions.Laughing

P.S. No one can have all my stuff.

It's partly true though, EVE is still the number 1 "hard for you" MMO out there. I know we all love it, heck, it's what makes flying in EVE interesting and it's the ONLY MMO out there where you can loose EVERYTHING on few occasions, but it's also very hard on the young'uns. Without dedicated players helping the new pilots out there the players of modern age are not gonna like it.

Ambulation will fix some, as it's a whole new space thing to do in games. Social space game? Never been done also.

What i suppose, is a buddy program where you can actually invite someone to your own crew, fund them, give them ships, teach and show them how things work.

This would ease new pilots into the world of fighting, mining, whatever, in a certainly safer way.

For example, if i could bring a few friends as debuties, who won't get shot while i do(pun), i bet they would feel a lot better about our world.

Good luck. EvE doesn't interest everyone, and there's no reason to play a game you don't have fun with. I'm glad to here you came back to try it out, hope you enjoyed the new gear (I sure am), but there's a lot of other good games on the market.

Sadistic gamers are just a fact of EvE. Always will be. We are playing against the morally challenged in this universe ;?j

Nice bunch really. I'm gonna miss you guys!

Pardon the post with my Mylosia. I forgot you had to select a character to post with. Maybe this will help the authenticity of my post. Though I'm sure you fine members of the community will find a way to cast derision anyway.

Same here.
Came back after a while, I'm glad I can leave a 25D skill running. Command ships is already on V. =D

GTC's are beign sold for ******ed prices...and all I had was around 300k LP + 60M ISK. No way to get a GTC now. LPs suck so much, sucks to train all socials for +LP gain for nothing.

I guess I should sell some Ravens or NH's, but at least some nice things are being added. Like the autocomplete thing.
Hehe.
Faction war must be fun, but for peolpe with extensive work shifts the priority EvE gets goes way down...

Still, it's on the right track for its game model.

I had a break too. Actually twice, about a year playing and year off each time.

Last time I came back made me prepared to expect amount of changes this time. Not only in the game itself but in the way people played it - last time I faced scamming, macromining, blobs, eBay characters, Jita, canflipping, more scamming, griefers, wardeccing, suicide ganking, corp theft and all of these things made everyone a bit paranoid. Well, at least me.

As someone mentioned, EvE is a bit 'full' these days, but it doesn't seem a bad thing at all. Actually I felt that at last people have things to do in EvE. FW looks like very smooth way to implement enough pvp in empire, so you don't need to spend most of time seeking pvp instead than practicing it. Rigs 'nd scripts allows you to spend money and time to tuneup your fittings a bit more and I assume that industrial side has received some nice twitches too.

Even if the 'best' stuff were reserved for the most dedicated players, it doesn't mean that mediocreavergejoe player like me wouldn't enjoy the game. Wink

It's such a timesaver when the OP themselves point out that EVE is not the game they are looking for and that they are going back to WoW.

One other quick thing

Have you tried FW?

I see it as a cheap and easy way to have 23/7 pvp with out so much of the ratter ganking/gate camps for haulers and loners. More of the, a group of guys wondering doing PvE knowing that PvP will come to them or a group of guys wondering looking for war targets who are ether expecting PvP or strait up looking for it them selves.

Also Plexing is way better then mission running when it comes to group PvE and although it doesn't really pay the bills you can do it in frigs which give you access to all plexs.

Anyway my point is you don't need to be rich to have fun in EvE. Sure being rich may allow you to get highest DPS on a kill or it might allow you to live though a battle, also you might be more useful as a skilled pilot (in game character and out of game knowledge) but it is not the end all and be all of fun in EvE.

Me? When I want a vacation from EVE, I wrap myself in bacon and honey and wander the woods, hugging random bears and people who look way tougher than me.

That's how tough EVE is.

Hm...

Instead of filling the forums with a new useless thread, I decided to hijack this one now to say this:

Thanks for the 14 free days CCP!

I used to play EVE from mid-2004 to early 2006, but eventually was tempted by the dark side and left to spend my days in a certain MMORPG that's better left unnamed (yep, it was the one with millions of players).

Anyway, I quitted that other game some time ago, and recently CCP offered me a chance to come back to EVE with 14 free days. Those 14 days are not yet over, but I already paid for the next 6 months, because... honestly, it feels good to be back! Granted, the game has its problems, but nothing is perfect and never will be. At least some of the earlier problems have been fixed.

I made a new character because I wanted a fresh start with a different race, and I also thought it might perhaps be a bit easier to learn all the things I have forgotten (not to mention all the new things introduced after I left) if I started anew... with some little financial support from my earlier character though, of course.

It was foolish of me to leave, especially because of that other game, but this time I've decided to stay for good. I may not be a big hero in this game, but at least I can have fun being a nobody.

So... thanks CCP, you made me come back! Very Happy

Compared to WoW, EvE is simply bliss. How could you *not* come back after that?
