First off, good job.. on the atempt to pvp!
My first introductions to gateguns and ignoring the warning message as the adderline hit me was in a battlecruiser... brutix... yeah... so at least you learned early!
Learn to use the scanner it can be the most helpfull thing ever! There are tons of tutorials on the forums all about it!

Don't let the 'noob' comments get to you. Every day in Eve is a 'schoolday', you learn summin new.
Opening up on someone under sentries in a frig is not recommended though... (won't do that again in a hurry, will you!) Least you had a go.

Normally I would say "wall of text" but I remember what my first PVP was like. Kudos for actually being able to control the mouse and keyboard well enought to even post! Now go have a cigarette, you need one. |

I lighted my cigar and started to orbit around. Then suddenly some cruiser came in (i think, it was very fast since i was in frenzy). I said "YES", i started to get closer, my afterburner was on fire, i was on fire, i locked him, then i pressed instantly my warp scrambler and webber, some warning screen showed up which i instantly ignored and pressed ok, my AC2 were ready to fire and i pressed the button. I said "YEEEAAA"... In next second i became red, my shield and my armor were completely destroyed, in seconds after while i was still in my "Arrrggg" phase i just exploded... WOW, what and action, i died... my whole action lasted 2 seconds but i was pretty happy... I started a chat with a guy who nailed me down and i said, oh man thanks for a good fight ... he said "you attacked me? i havent even noticed"... so what happend... sentry guns which were near the gate destroyed me instantly when i turned hostile... one big LOL. So that is my first experience, i hope you enjoyed it.
Now i am off to buy new ship and start new PVP, next time, far far away from sentry guns :))

Reminds me of my first (and last) time trying to PVP: a gate-camp with a Stabber in New Eden region somewhere...
It was excellent. With a very underpowered ship and a huge buffer tank(mids and lows filled with armor and shields), I had a 3-man gate camp with a few friends...
Lesson learned-Sentry guns seem to fire slow(this gate only had two), and never stop to loot unless you are absolutely sure you can get out of there with it.
Lessons in fail are often the best ones for teh lulz. =P

I think everyone has a nightmare first action to be honest.
I know it sounds sad but the amount of adrenaline pumping through my veins during my first ever pvp, was like lining up for a 100 metres race in college!
Hands shaking over the mouse, rubbing sweat off them at every opportunity and hoping the situation didn't change to give my opponent the upperhand.
Of course mine ended in total disaster too.
Managed to kill someone in a belt and began my victory dance whilst yanking my headset wire out of the socket (we've all done it). Thought about a celebratory beer and decided to dock up to be on the safe side...
After I'd realised what I had done and after the longest warp in history (in my mind anyway) the guns annihilated me...

Well we've all done stuff like this on our learning curve, not that interesting a story really, but thanks for sharing. Yes it does make me laugh when I think of the amount of nooby frigates I've seen target me in lowsec only to go BANG instantly. Shame they never have loot worth ****.  |
