this may come as a shock to the whiners complaining about performace and *****ing that fleet comabt isn't possible or that the mac client can only be used for skilling and market transaction...
last night i was taking part in the fleet(s) that headed for SV5 to join the coalition of alliances to defend against a major capital assault by AAA on a friendly POS.
(details to that can be found in the COAD forum)
typically the main battle started lagging out the whole constellation turning the fleets movement into a crawl.
but surprisingly the most jumps that ppl got lagged out for 10 minutes and more i was first in system firt to war to next gate and even with total lag i was able to mwd an 80km distance from a bubble to the gate, killing 2 spawns of gate rats before the next members of the fleet were able to catch upon me.
how is that??? :)
even when we finally arrived at SV5, FC asked to hold for a while then ordered all megathrons to jump in and about 5 mins later (none of the megas even loaded system) i jumped and well... again i was the one giving intel about the situation on the incoming gate.
i wonder what's the main reason for those lags? or what helps best against them (as far as client performance matters)
cache size? cpu? ram?
i'm playing on a MBP 2,4ghz core2 duo with 4gig ram
