A good read. And it doesnt surprise me to see her softer side here, based on what I have read in the novel...
Amarr ideology is that their beliefs and faith ARE the true way, there is no other. So her comments regarding the "wayward" children are correct... from their point of view, of course... The strength of their convictions will see them through...
The only concern is... To what end? |

the story of Tatooing the names of the mans family on his body , in the middle of the rants and filty tirades he threw at her , the names of those same people who Denounced him to save their own lives, how cruel to remind him of that , I doubt his family lives

While reading this great chronicle and the comments, it came to me: the Amarr empire was put there to remind us of those things in the world that are too disturbing to be ignored, too large to change, acceptance being the only rational way. |

I'd recommend an aggressive change in Gallente domestic and foreign policy--namely a Blaque regime in which cultural and racial issues start coming to the forefront as well as a desire to aggressively expand their democracy in the name of peace. it woulda happened, had everyone voted for Blaque in the election. as it is, the Gallente are kind of a sleeping giant (internally) compared with the radical changes in all the other empires. But I like it as is, even when I don't agree with the liberalism of Foiritan. (wow, i sound like an RPer...weird). Curiously, I agree more with Blaque in a general sort of way. But Ide rather not see a darkening of the Gallente Federation. there needs to be a beacon of hope somewhere. Or will it get better in the end? There has to be a lull in all this darkness, eh? Hope? Where will this hope be placed, if not in the Empires? The pod pilots? likely. then again, maybe not  This should be interesting. Very interesting. as for the chronicle, theological implications abound. I didn't read the novel, i plan to someday, but she sounds as if she has a few right ideas swirling in the jumble of conflicting actions/ideals. The whole love of humanity thing is interesting, almost the right idea. Not quite on target. You can love someone without assimilating them . She's got a picture of loving humanity but has forgotten about the individual. Classic, and right on target for her position. Almost...hmm, what historical figure would this remind me of? There are several, but none i can put to name. as for the previous Emperors, I miss Heideran :( (yes I'm that old), and that next guy shouldn't have been stupid enough to get himself assasinated IMHO. Would have liked him too. Not really sure about Jamyl, considering her culture/background. Heideran had the right idea...but died of old age before he could really implement it. The next Emperor (forgot his name) would have set some things right. How does this bode for the universe, and, more specifically, for the Gallente Federation? (as I am a Gallente loyalist at heart) Questions abound. I await the conclusion to this twisted web. There's gotta be an after, a good conclusion, otherwise the story sucks at the end . the aftermath of this tumultuous time shall be, most definitely, interesting. and after the aftermath even more so and, this is some of the best plot structure I have ever seen, to pull in an entire universe, with all its goings on. and you have so many people working on it, too, developing it as it goes. Do you even know the outcome? it doesn't appear so. |

I seem to recall CCP saying awhile back that they wanted to greatly increase the visibility and importance of the Jovians around the time that Faction War broke out. Not only making them part of the ongoing storyline, but also introducing some Jovian technology and making Jovians a playable race. The fact that one of the recent chronicles mentioned the Jovians "listening in" on the other empires might be a sign.
Personally I feel that the only non-cheesy way to introduce the Jovians is as an end to the major wars between the empires. For instance, if anybody remembers the TV series Babylon 5...there was a climactic three-way battle between the Shadows, Vorlons, and the younger races. This was a titanic engagement involving literally millions of ships, in orbit around a planet with 6 billion people on it who would likely be killed if the battle were to continue for very long. Imagine something similar in EVE.
The combined fleets of all 4 empires...Minmatar + Gallente vs Amarr + Caldari gather in orbit around a heavily populated world. The battle would spell certain doom for billions of people. At the last minute, the Jovians step in and forcibly bring peace. Only by "direct intervention" will the bloodshed stop. This requires the Jovians to maintain a constant presence to watch over things which would eventually lead to acquiring Jovian tech, Jovian pod pilots, and access to Jovian space.
Now on topic for this chronicle, it seems simply that Jamyl is going to bring back the Reclamation with a vengeance. Normally this would bode poorly for the Minmatar, but since the Republic has been joined by the Thukkers and the Ammatar Mandate is in revolt...they might stand a chance. This will be interesting to watch. |

This is not true, I believe, for God Empress is indeed a deity. As in the Chronicle, you cannot committ heresy against a mortal by maligning them. Malign a Godess -- and presto! Looking forward to actually reading the whole novell myself  |

ooo, definitely. Jove ships 4 teh win. only...how would they balance the Jove ships with the other 4 races? Isn't a Jove frig on a par with the Apocalypse?  |

I'd expect that most Jovian tech would be limited to mods and implants. If they did give us the ability to fly Jovian ships, they'd probably require more than simple faction, isk, or loyalty points. Handing out ships could be done by GM events and such where the Jovians choose people "worth" of using their technology. |

I would take it a step further and say that CCP would be foolish to allow the Jovians to be playable. By having the Jovians, they have created a useful leveraging tool to control the powerbase within EVE. The Jovians could, in theory, outlaw BOB for instance, or do anything else, at CCPs bidding, and it would all be within the game.

great story, joined just a few months ago, so it took me a while to get caught up on all the chronicles and the like.
Now with the Joves, I think the best way to integrate them would to be with mods, as previously stated, and possilbly new tier ships for each race, which would use new jovian technology that was acquired once they enter the scene a little more physically. as for player joves...I don't think that is possible with the current lore, I mean(flame me if I am wrong) can't jovians only reproduce by cloaning? For us to take a jovian player, we would have to take over the body of a jove that has lived for milennia, and I jsut can't see that.
Now, back a lil more on topic, I think that the new empress will open up a can of worms with her new reclamation, making race military forces play a bigger role in the war. |
