my tribute to July 26: First "C&P Suicide Gank Someone Day"
since i can't personally make it that day due to RL commitments.

although i did not witness the exact moment when the suicide gank occured, all i saw was the game message of concord aggressing on this guy, and then his drake popping.

atm i was just travelling in a shuttle... so i decided to approach to see wats in his drake. scooped a T2 scram, then went to see the wreck.

WTF!?

A PILGRIM IN THE WRECK?

guess that noob's alt is either too noob to carry 10,000m3 at once, or he is too noob to even have an alt hauler.

anyways, i can flipped the pilgrim, then guarded the can with my shuttle.

meanwhile, my alt is 6js away, so i logged in and got her on manual warp.

now heres the problem... guarding a 70M loot with a shuttle is prob not the most effective solution. im also in the middle of nowhere, in which the system doesnt sell any frigs.

BUT THEY DID HAVE TRACTOR BEAMS IN THIS SYSTEM!!!!

so i ejected, docked, fitted a tractor on the ibis, then returned to the can.

by this time theres a pirate cruiser 'guarding' my can. seems like everyone wants this pilgrim really badly =p

i targetted my can, then started tractoring it around the gate. that cruiser cant keep up with me XD

then my alt came. so i got the two characters to approach eachother with the tractor active, scoop, jump.

btw the drake pilot's pod was also trying to follow the can HAHA. would have suicide ganked his pod if they sold a frig in the system.

Nice, I wonder why this never happens to me.

On a related note. An alliance member of mine was going through a system. He saw a hauler get suicided, with no hauler around. So, he did what anyone would do, checked the wreck. There were about 20-30 BPC's, and a Drake BPO. Lucky bum. :)

I popped a freighter wreck 1-2 jumps into hydra space, since the guy who killed the freighter bugged out when we came through, and we couldn't haul the loots Laughing

By the way , a suicider ganker's pod would have a crim , so it's an open target (just not shot at by concord)

Defending one of the first Suicide Caracal Ops by the Caldari Militia in Villore, I spied an indy wreck a little way off from the battle and thought I'd go have a peek in a lull in th eaction. The thing was totally full of T2 gear, most of which I stole, but there was a Deimos in there as well! I just wished I'd had some way of getting it out of there!

It's very strange. From my experience, you will get the -12.5% the sec loss, you won't be concordoken, he won't have killrights, you won't get a gcc, but you will get shot at by sentries.

Awesome story. Great thinking with the tractors!

I was roaming around pureblind in a vexor once. Jumped through a gate and saw a hauler from a negative alliance. Targetted him instantly and he said 'ransom' so fast in local that I just had to pop him and see what he was transporting, alone, in his badger 2, unstabbed...

Open the can...imagine my surprise to find a few high grade crystal implants, some dread gurista gear, 15x BCU T2 (back when they were 15mill each), 10x Cap Recharger T2 (they were 20mill each), etc, etc...

I scooped up all that I could and paid a corp mate to haul the rest to Torrinos for me in a transport. Made over 700mill from killing a crappy T1 hauler. My lucky day...

You can't tractor wrecks/cans that do not belong to your corp; if it is a player wreck, even if killed by you, you cannot tractor it as the wreck still belongs to that player.

Ships, regardless of size, assemble and drop in space when the ship carrying them is destroyed, they do not stay on the wreck.

Either you're an attention ***** with a very badly scratched up story, or you're a failtroll. Laughing

Still doesn't explain why the ship was in a wreck and not assembled in space; unless ccp changed this since I last suicided a hauler carrying some ships...

Ever seen a shuttle swarm around an itty5 wreck? Painful stuff I tell you... Confused

as i said i didnt see the how the suicide gank went, but only found a packaged pilgrim in a wreck.

i assumed an indy was carrying a packaged pilgrim and other stuff and was lucky that it dropped the pilgrim.

and yes, i flipped the wreck, so i was able to tractor it.

need more details?

Ships stay in the wrecks and they have done since freighters dropped loot, was implemented at the same time....a yr ago maybe?

I guess that has changed then; that's less than how long it's been since I last popped a ship carrying hauler.

I put a 3mil bounty on my old main once, just because I could, and because I knew the corp of nubs we were contracted against were for some reason afraid of people with bounties. They increased my bounty to 180mil within a week.
