I am a one month old EVE player, or noob if you prefer it, with about 1.5 million SP and basic experience with missioning and mining in high sec space. Yesterday, thanks to corp warfare or faction warfare, i was graced by a smile from Fortuna. While docking with a station in system X i saw the beginnings of a brawl between a few battleships. When i exited the station i saw 2 000 m in front of me a Gallante battleship floating among one cargo container and a wreck with cargo in it. I imediately followed the general advice i have seen in posts on these forums, targeting the wreck i managed to salvage it on my second attempt. Next item was the cargo container that popped up, open it i swiped 2 minmater warrior drones tech 2 and 215 torpedoes. Following this action (giggling like a school girl) and due to the fact that the Gallante battleship now was only 50 meters from me I docked with the station. Once there i checked my cargo contents again and noticed the 14 tritanium bars among my other salvage items. I salvaged 14 tritanium bars from that wreck!!!!! My reactions can best be described with these smilies....Shocked....Twisted Evil.....YARRRR!!......Very Happy......Cool

All i can say is EVE is a DAMN good game!!! Feeling like 4.5 million ISK here.

If you like salvaging you can help mission runners by salvaging their wrecks. You know, probe them down, enter their mission rooms and salvage away. In hi sec you'll be pretty safe and make a fortune!

What is this 'probing' ? It's really easy to do, here's Hoshi's Ship Probing Guide.

Enjoy!

Just be careful if the mission runner decides to help and warps out. The NPCs will then target you, so pay attention.

That's some good luck you got, Cecil. You can be a good salvager in no time doing things like that. Congrats on that awesome wreck.

Oh, i forgot. You can use http://grismar.net/eve/explorer/index.php to find systems close to your location that house level 4 combat agents. Very useful site.

If you like salvaging, contact me in-game sometime and I'll show you where the good stuff is.

Bear in mind also that taking things from cargo cans usually makes you fair game for the person the game considers their 'owner' to come and get you for 15 minutes. Salvaging doesn't.

Thanks for the offer! I just might take you up on it, as long as its not in low sec space where you can blast my a*s off. Laughing

The OP stumbled upon a fight and ninja salvaged the loser's wreck for 14 trit bars, 4.5 mil worth, and some stolen loot.
