And that, sir, is one of the key factors that have lead to Gallente success. They can effectively increase a fleet's DPS by another 50-100% just by launching swarms of attack drones and having them set to assist the interceptors. They don't even have to worry about lock time.

Definitely Stalin. This quote is reminiscent of the Marxist theoretical principle that steady quantitative changes can lead to a sudden qualitative leap. It is therefore likely that Stalin may have said something like this. However, in the variant "Quantity is quality", there is an undialectical equation of the two. Stalin is therefore unlikely to have used this variant; the variant "Quantity has a quality all its own" is therefore more likely.

Yeah, they really are, but the problem is that the time a player spends killing drones is time he's not spending killing the pilots, and you may have noticed that Gallente ships often have drone space to spare.
If you start spending time popping t1 medium drones spiraling out of a Dominix, the pilot is just going to launch more and keep at it. Their cost efficiency is amazing (For T1) when you think of how many goddamn drones a fleet of Gallente ships can pump out.

The one thing the Caldari pilots really have going for them are the large presence of F.O.F. missiles, which admittedly do their job wonderfully, if at the cost of a little DPS.

In the end, the drones are a much needed asset to the Gallente fleet. While they do not singlehandedly turn the tide of a battle, in most cases, they do have their own special influence, just like the Caldari ECM or swarms of F.O.F. missiles.

I find it interesting that while the Caldari militia has twice as many pilots, the Gallente have twice as many kills...

Sorry...but isnt that an obvious post? If the caldari militia have more members....then the gallente have more targets. Or is the idea to fail at logic? Cool

And assuming an equal propensity to join combat, every fight will have Gallente outnumbered 2 to 1, and given those odds if everybody still dies once, wouldn't it point to Gallente being better? Very Happy

And experience tells me you do seem to outnumber us. See: Your ambush last night at Tama station.

taking this further.

assuming all fights had twice as many caldari as gallente and each player did equal dps and had equal ehp (yes I know this is unrealistic and dumbing it down) then the gallente fleet will have at most half the amount of kills as the caldari.

c
c
c g
c g
c g
c

'c' will kill 3 'g' before the 'g' kill a second 'c'.
meaning that c will always have more kills than g and the difference would in larger battles grow in favour of c at much higher rates than mentioned above.

obviously real battles are nothing like this, however it easily disputes the arguement of "twice the targets = twice the deaths with equal skill on both sides" from some of the previous posters.

About half the Caldari numbers are Gallente spies. So I wouldn't read too much into the numbers. But even after that, one has to still wonder how useful those spies are when Caldari still seems to stomp Gallentean heads every night. Spies only enable them to run away more effectively.

At this rate, by July the militias will be the four largest alliances in EVE.

Now imagine if they get really organized...

will never be a threat to 0.0 alliances, except maybe in low sec.
Cannot afaik claim sov in 0.0 and thats whats needed to build / store supercaps. Not gonna be much of invasion with blob of t1 rabble and a handful of cap ships.

but taking space isnt the object of fw, its the best part of fleet fights without the pos warfare that make it so fun.

With, what, 15,000 players in FW, I think so far it's a success.

Unpossible! FW is being torn apart by pirates, alliance involvement, lack of alliance involvement, instancing, lag, lack of pirates, and communists!

Damn those communists... I knew it!

Its been a long time since I really wanted to log on to Eve and play. Faction Warfare has given me a renewed interest in the game and im currently training up some new skills just for fun. Not bad for someone who has a crapload of sp after being here for a couple of years.. .:)

And the new graphics engine blows my mind.. I can run Eve with all eyecandy now. Its stunning.

This post is so positive I need to find something to whine about to even things out.

Thats if they remember to scoop them... i was sitting cloacked in my bomber watching about 40 gallenty ships sit on a gate for 10 or so minutes (sure they dont gate camp) then they decided to move on and 6 people left there drones, if they do that on every gate its going to be an expensive war for them.

but i have to agree with Noobswarm as there are many pvp noobs in our fleets but i have noticed the same in gallenty fleets.

When i have 4x pod mails with my manticore and no warp disruptor 3x of them were solo that tells me there are many noobs fighting in the gall milita as well, all the players i podded were running tech 2 fits on there ships so its not like they are complete eve noobs just pvp noobs.

So Noobswarm is apt but its the same for all sides, and as long as people are having alot of fun then who really cares i have yet to see a cranky player after loosing a frigate its just fun, also several of the fleets i have been in have collected donations and paid out to people who lost ships (fairly amazing if you ask me in a group of people who hardly know each other.)

Actually he was right. In a conventional war the USSR would have defitted the USA, but nukes made the whole thing a academic debate.

A Conventional war that the USA is loosing will escalate to a nuclear exchange, because there is no way that the people from the Land of the Proud and the Brave will ever surrender, so they'll just nuke.Twisted Evil

In other news, about 1/4 of the Caldari militia appear to be gallente spies intent upon passing along hilariously bad fitting advice.
