It is seems like something like that should have been added long ago seeing how far this game has come. As we all know, right now ships explode ( the explosions are great don't get me wrong) and a corny little wreak appears. Nothing else. I'd like to see armor take visible damage while in combat and have exposed bulkheads when reaching structure. I know some people will respond to this and give the reason that its too much of a lag on the game's servers. It seems to me like it'd be very easy to implement something like that to be client based. Most computers that run premium should also be able to handle enabled damage effects. Additionally, it worries me that in all of the dev blogs I've listened into there has been no discussion of damage effects whatsoever. It's even more worrisome to me that I haven't seen any demand for it. It'd make combat much more immersive and even more visually beautiful than it already is. If I'm missing something here let me know. I'd appreciate a discussion. |

You kids are so demanding. There was a time where the only "graphic" games were Moria (rpg style) and the Worm (arcade style), while most games rather were about content. Text based adventure games. The House? More directed to the OP: not to mention EVE is quite ugly compared to most games, I fail to see a huge demand in increasing the graphic quality here. In most MMO's they'd think about a "EVE II" about this age of the game, with a new graphic engine etc. The single server cluster and the skill training system in EVE would make it hard for CCP to make players 'upgrade' to a EVE 2 where they'd have to start all over again.. so my prediction is the graphics in EVE will be worse and worse and worse as long as this game lives. ..and at the end of the day, I think most people would prefer a game with a content than fancy looks. There's a reason an old/fulltime MMO-player like me prefer EVE over all other games. Even tho the graphics in this game is pretty poor. |

gameplay is infinately more important than graphics, the two converge in the UI however i suppose, which is in need of a complete replacement.
for sure i don't care about graphics effects, even if games 10 years older than eve have better graphics. |

With regards to other MMOs, if you think this, you obviously have impaired vision. |
