But it would be great to have a subtitled version Rolling Eyes

reminds me of the movie "Sexy Beast"

We had to turn on subtitles for that movie in film class. Laughing

Awesome video.

Refreshingly original, groundbreaking and consistently funny. The video flowed brilliantly (only realised 40mins went by when it ended).

Hope you have more in the works, waiting two years for the next one would be too long!

Very impressed that someone took the time to make something like this. I downloaded it thinking it would just be another typical Eve fraps movie. During a commercial of a show on TV I decided to start watching and when the show on the TV came back on, it got muted. :)

Was it perfect? No. But it was perfect enough for me to watch it over some "professionally" made show and far more perfect than anything I could do. I congratulate you on making a great video that captured Eve's essence.

I can only hope you do more.

That was awesome! Thank you! Very Happy

And if I can make one (hopefully constructive) criticism then, like a few others, I sometimes "missed" some of the dialogue, because it was drowned out by the background sound effects. This might be something you don't notice when editing it, as you already "know" what the person is saying.

Might I suggest you get a small group of QA guys to watch the prerelease and can point out such instances to you so you can tweak the voice volume?

Asside from that, I sooo hope CCP will invite you to the FanFest where we can watch the debut of a new episode. Wink

Please guys, if someone wants to say something negative let them... John's not going to burst into tears. You've all made it perfectly clear that he's produced an excellent piece of work and I don't think the odd negative comment (constructive or otherwise) is gonna shatter his world ;)

I know it's frustrating when someone seems intent on trolling but really, there's nothing better you can do than just ignore troll-posts. And, who knows, the rest of us _could_ be wrong.

:) Keep it sweet, Sseith :)

Crikey, lets keep it friendly on here Smile

I'm not going to get involved in any heated discussion, I'll restate my case that it was by me and my mates for our fun and enjoyment, it wasn't anywhere near expected to explode like this. No, it's not perfect, this is my first ever attempt at anything like this - in fact I improved as the film was made. The first bit I did was the intro sequence in the repair dock, so yes the camera does go a bit all over the place because I was finding my feet. The character animation was ropey too. Also, the external shots were all filmed "live" by my right hand on the mouse so yes they can be wobbly, and you are limited by what you can do with the camera. I did my best with what I had though - at one point I had WD40 on my mouse hand and mouse mat to make a camera pull-out as smooth as possible Very Happy The sound balancing was a nightmare, but I know how to make life easier for me now by changing something much earlier in the process. I can speed up choreo editing by having a library of gestures and faceposes, and tap into the subsequent HL2 episodes for more gestures.

In other words, yes, I will take all I've learned forwards into whatever I do next Cool

PS the voice actors you're stuck with Razz They are my friends and we had fun doing the project Smile

Awesome job m8 ,

I was wondering if you ever feel like making a second vid ,cause i bet you might be bit burned out after all that time , maybe you could use that widow pilot haffa as the main character would be nice to c , also the scene with the raven pilot beiing jammed by the widow and then hearing he was about to die was really nice .

gj also i think you forgot the girl (the station docking manager ) in your credits

Folks, please feel free to contribute to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_Skies_(machinima) - the wikipedia article about the movie. It's currently a stub and needs a lot of work. Sorry, I can't make the above URL a link as for some reason the forums remove the parentheses when I try.

A real big thankyou to everyone who's taken the time to post, I know JR's totally made up about it.

Oh and I thought the voice acting was spot on :) you'd never know that none of us went to drama school ;)
