My vid was finally done and i set it to render over the night, however to my greatest shock the resulting file was at 78 GB O_o, so i'm quite sure i should not use that rendering option. Could anyone help me choose which one to use (i've only used vegas like 2 days now :S), i frapsed it all at 1680x1050 resolution, the length is 38 mins, if you need to know that.

Thanks in advance! :D

Sounds like you did an uncompressed export / render, time to take that file and compress it into WMV or MKV, using either Sony Vegas to compress the file you have rendered or something like the Autoencoder or Staxrip for MKV.

Did you happen to fraps any of yesterday's epic 15 min battle? Very Happy

Thanks, I seem to have done it in a uncompressed format.

yup, however that was too late for the vid so will appear in next one (current one is 38 mins already...), not the only battle not in as we got a CNR kill too and almost a golem (fight being 3x geddon vs CNR, Golem, Cyclone, Myrmidon, Drake, Sleipnir, 0 losses, and pith fitted CNR dead :D)

I've found Sony's render function thingie unreliable so nowadays I always render my sony vegas videos in uncompressed format and then use 3rd party tools to encode the results.

I personally use MeGUI to encode my videos.

Aye, just use another method to compress it, and you're golden.

.mkv is popular these days.

MKV is just a container

you can use whatever codec you want to encode the streams within the MKV Container
