I like the shiny things inside. But it’s ok, I feel bad afterwards… Sometimes.
It’s just that I get these voices in my head and their telling me to do things. Things I normally wouldn’t do. Bad, Horrible, Things! They are constantly talking and talking and talking. They are starting to scare me. Should I listen to them? I’m not suicidal, never have been. I’m not depressed, never have been. I’m normal. But, because of the voices in my head I can’t hear anything else. Dear GOD! Can’t you stop the voices in my head?

this.....its usually too risky to stay for prolonged periods on gates solo as you likely have friends in bound |

Ransoming ships can be misleading, over in Kor-Azor we tackled a Golem that jumped in without a scout. Most pirate corps would have ransomed his ship due to the amount it would cost for him to replace it. We ship scanned him and found out he was faction fitted, he refused to pay the ransom (we very rarely ransom ships...I believe it was 1 billion) so we popped him and got lucky on the drop. Gist B-type X-large shield booster, DG invul, DG bcu's dropped, amoung other things. Well to make a long story short, ransoming ships isn't as profitable as people may think. From the loot we get (and we get tons) our members get paid 70ish mill every 2 weeks from the corp payout.

If you were the one to offer a ransom, then he probably thought you had epic modules, so that's why. |

alot of pirates just do it for the kill, or moreover, the mail, which proves they made that kill. As is, there's no method for tracking ransoms, and thusly for a pirate well off, it's not on the priority list. |

I only ransom if its in a belt and if i complete control of the fight.
In a belt i have no sentry's on me and get sufficient warning via scanner if help is coming in which time i can align finish off the target hopefully pop or scoop wreck then gtfo. If help isn't coming i will give the target / poor shrublet 10 seconds to send me the iskies i think is worth it ( I say this when he is touching structure and do not stop firing .. if he dies and sends the money too late i think of it as a gift )
On a gate i have to constantly tank sentry's. The target can get back to the gate and jump. He can have friends right on the other side. So best bet is to kill the target and gtfo. |

I'm not sure why you complain about not being ransomed when you return fire. More often than not , we don't wait for the victim to stop shooting to ransom , we forcefully disable it with ewar. When that's not an option , people who fight back (and have more than insignificant dps) have to die. |

Have to agree with erm.. someone NEVER NEVER offer ransom first it is asking for trouble if they aint interested in ransom they are interested in the kill and handing them isk will still lead to your demise.
I think one of the things that make me laugh is the "i aint paying **** i got insurance" line. Sure take a raven 30mil to insure at plat level pays out around 100mil, 100mil may just cover a new ship plus then 20mil+ for mods another 50mil for rigs and then the 30mil for re-insuring thats 100mil out of pocket so explain again why you wont pay the 100mil ransom to keep it?
I just love forgetfulness its like with miners "i mined it so its free". |

perhaps you would not need to PvP! Besides the more Pirates mission the less there are spanking your Drake. So pirates can Ransom, but not mission, mine, build, etc. Makes sense to me. |

If and when I do decide to pvp or pirate in whatever sec system I happen to be in. It's mainly because I ahve become bored with the game on one level or another so I look to spice things up. Change of pace. I used to help everyone I met and was very anti-pirate. That's all well and good and it was fun hanging out with a lot of people who have the same mindset.
But honestly, nothing gets the heart pumping like a little pvp. And pvp en masse blobs against other mass blobs... been there and done that. I enjoy smaller conflicts more.

Originally by: Exlegion There was a question like this asked some weeks ago (can't find the thread). But the common responses (posted by pirates themselves) were that they aren't interested in isk, but rather "lulz" and the "squishy pod sound". Basically they want the killmail for both your ship and pod.
http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=742142 That was me, circumstances where a little different (null, alone, shuttle), and mainly about podding my +4 implant char :) Since then I've learned a bit.. I live permanently in nullsec, and ransoms arent done there. You kill enemies, and let blues live, or do NRDS etc.. In lowsec, a lot of pirate corps compete within their corp for the top spot on the KB. That's a goal to go after. They live close enough to highsec to mission for money, and pirate for the KB, nothing else. |
