What are the suggestions for a DDprof Sniping BS ?

Need over 150km Range... as well as DDprof.

Tempest has horrible powergrid, with my skills i cant even fit 6*1200 II... it needs PG modules, or rigs..

Maelstrom on the other hand has much better PG, but i wonder if shield tanking can actually be DDprof and at the same time give me 150range...

Any setups ?

Can you tell me what DD you're expecting to tank?

Maelstorm is better bet if you are looking for those attributes and easier to fit with lower skills. DD is what bit over 70k raw damage from one damagetype?

Yeah, that's why it's important to know the damage type he expects to fit against.

so in other words i must know what to expect... ?

Intel on our enemies Titans perhaps... mmm.

Isnt there any option of Omni-DD tank ?

So in other words it becomes simple.

fit a t2 hardener or even 2 hards, for the damage u expect and if ur total HPs are above 50k, you are ok.... right?

Not really, no. You should really just tell me what damage type you're expecting to tank.

Yes. Ask in alliance what you're expecting.

I have a Rokh on contract in a old "Rule of Three" outpost that'll survive any single DDD with a slight fitting tweak.

Just thought I would toss that out there.....and I need a new pair of shoes.

Yeah well the Rokh is overpowered in job lots. He really just needs to be safe and not bring sniper battleships when he can be DD'd :)

With decent gang skills, yes you can withstand any type of dd in a sniperpest. However to withstand lvl5 dd's you need a damnation in gang. Maelstrom does it a bit easier, and doesn't need the damnation to survive most lvl5's. Megathron does it best though, doesn't need any gang skills or command bonuses.

All setups are without compromising any range, dmg, locking, mwd etc etc.

Also, if you don't know for sure what DD type you're going to be facing, maybe you can tell me which alliance you're planning on being DD'd from?

Maelstrom DD tank:

low
2x gyro2
1x dc2
1x 1600 RT
1x EANM2

mid
mwd
3x Tracking comps (2 optimal, 1 unscripted)
2x SB2 (1x range, 1x unscripted)

hi
8x 1400 arty2's

reqired rigs:
1x trimark
1x ancillary current router
1x whatever you want (locktime/range rig, 2nd trimark works too for extra buffer)

Skills at 4:
181 km lockrange
146 optimal + 42 falloff (Tremor)
Tanks every dd.

Maelstrom DD tank shield version

low
2x gyro2
2x TE2
1x DC2

mid
1x mwd
2x sb2
1x invuln2
2x LSE2

hi
8x 1400 arty2

rigs:
1x ancillary current router
1x core defense field extender
1x whatever (another extender or locktime)

181km lockrange
140km optimal +42 falloff
tanks all dd.

With powergrid implants and decent skills in projectile rigging (or AWU5) you can fit a locus rig and push optimal over 160km.

Kinda expensive, IMO. Also, you're exacerbating the general suckiness of BS Artillery by only using 2 damage mods.

Ok, so you're a red, and you're probably going to shoot me with my own advice, but, you should be able to fit a full 1400mm arty setup on the Tempest with just 1 grid mod.

Maelstrom is only realistic choice for minmatar dd tank. And you're not realistically tanking dd's without rigging your fleet ships. Grunts in a fleet don't get to know what they might get hit with, so you have to tank for all 4 dd's. It's not really that hard to do, though to be fair minmatar do have it the worst for dd tank setups, being pretty much forced to use their t3 bs for it. Megas/Apocs can get by with just a trimark if fit right.

Well, depending on what DD he was wanting to tank, you're right. If you know what titan your enemy has, it's very easy to make it not really affect your setup.

For instance, you'd be better off with shield extender rigs and PDUs against an explosive DD, or a plate and/or EM hardener against an EM doomsday.

Also, I wanted to know what the scuttlebutt was about any supposed titan we have (lol?).

With decent bonuses (which you should have in a large fleet) this setup is omni dd proof, but if you dont then an erebus can kill it (rest still cant)
