I will tell you a little action tonight that made me think of this "Where do you think we're heading?" Maybe it have been asked, if so i apologize of this useless thread, but its still a little story  Cap warfare is growing up, aye i know "it does happen" SOMETIMES, to have some fair fight, with a good battle. However, tonight, was hauling my asset and it started to **s me off.."what should i do?" lets go suicide one or two ship after looking for troubles! yarr I jump in my mega , start blind jumping with no clue where i'm heading, well just a little clue , molden heath chokepoint. At this time, i knew i was about to loose it and all his crew (insert emo-smiley here). Here we go, i arrive at the system , many flashy appears... i warp from gate to gate scanning and i recon a gang with at least a domi / phoon and a drake. Woot lets die with a good fight! I warp to station, they're waiting at undock, one of them flag on me, then all the rest. (I'll pass the dock/undock playtime), old corpmate appear in local , i gang him up , undock and now gang show Domi, Armag, phoon, broadsword, drake and ... a machariel. Call corpmate we're gonna die , he says ffs lets do it too. We engage , focus on armag , pull him down then what undock ? A nidhoggur. No need to tell you the end  Ok those guys won, i dont complain, i deserved to die. Does it worth it ? With the time everyone will be able to fly capital ship. What will happen in low sec ? We all know 0.0 is already corrupted and it is really important there, but in low sec ? So after this.. Where do you think we're heading? Mr and Mrs yarr/anti-pie/passerby ... feel free to tell me if it will still worth it trying to have fun inspace With my best regards. Lola Dumdum. |

Its already pretty much got to the point that you either have to fly something fast so you can bail if needed or you can just accept that your going to get killed and go down having a laugh (or just be very picky about who and where you fight). I don't think it's really going to get much worse (I can see myself regretting saying that) |

You dont get it sir. I Knew I was going to die, the prob is , more and more people will be flying capital in 2 years also some more rookie will join the game i hope, but fights will never be what they used to be. I was fighting a bunch proud low sec pocket defender with a little red flashy icon like a yarr  . Cap is becoming the easy way, killing the best part of this game for what i think. We all know empire guys arent in this kind of situation. So will it be still possible to dream of good fight? These are much more rare, and it will not head to the good direction. |

Maybe I just worded it wrong. What I mean is it has already got to the point where the only decent fight you get is against a rookie or some oldskool guy who doesn't care whether or not he dies. I don't think it will get any worse since most corps can already field a carrier or two at least. |

Well i wont lie...I was the domi in da op. What went down on our end is since you were only out of your corp/alliance for like a day we thought you were generally being bait. Seeing as how last time we fell for your trap we had a12 man bs gang with a logistic ship gank our faces in. We thought the same thing was gonna happen here so our thought process was: "Hey we only got a few guys but if we have a carrier itll be a decent fight" Turns out aft6er a few mins of shooting you didnt have a trap/blob on your side we were like " "oops" . To the actual qeustion: Caps are gonna be a serious issue in the future. Carriers are becoming the new Battleship. (we see how certain alliances already use them...wont point any fingers but the name starts with an "F" ). I forsee low sec becoming more and more like 0.0 with caps being hot dropped left and right and the art of solo pvpin slowly dieing away  But hey i could always be wrong (I hope to every god i am) |

That is why I stick to soloing in a Machariel from now on, just so many ECM *****s and Capitals around that there is no point in flying something slow  |

Yes , dread on a gate is really useles. Even with support , what is fun doing this ? not impresive at all. Fast boat are a good way also. But a machariel cant be piloted by every pretty little yarr, and what would happen to all other kind of BS if they're not in a big fleet....  |

What we're going to see is carriers cutting into small gang warfare as they slowly become more and more common. In essence, a carrier ends any small gang fight with its logistic capabilities. The cyno system that was supposed to make flying a cap a group activity is all managed by an alt, and actually affords more mobility to the carrier than traditional jumpgate travel. The carrier drops right into the fight with virtually no warning until the cyno is up. Sparsity of cap ship pilots is really all that's keeping one out of every fight now, and in the future it'll become practice to expect every small gang to have carrier support waiting in the wings, and you'll need to prepare a gang with this in mind. Bigger gangs, carriers mandatory on both sides, etc. |

Thanks for your answer guys with a little plus /wave to Orar So this topic is endding, but lets check... Are you guys game for this kind of stuff? We'll have to ninja-gank then avoid capital, still fair play, but have to escape or not enjoying a real battle to the end if you're not in a big fleet or with capital support? I know most of the little and big yarr are tired of this, will you still enjoy pirating in this near futur?  |

Unfortunately this is one of those "if you can't beat em, join em" scenarios. Not only do you not see them coming despite proper intel, but carriers are good for killing anything. From BS to frig, it has weapon sizes for all. Plus it makes a great hauler.  Too tempting not to have. Carriers are indeed the new battleship. Another year and we'll all have to be flying one to stay competitive. Sad really. I wonder if CCP intended for this. If it gets much worse I'll have to rat my sec back up and join red v blue, or just run around in nanofits in 0.0. Or I could just get a carrier like everyone else. |

Really hope you did left only due to this...
And yes if CCP did not intend to go this way, they should do something real quick. Like maybe update the capital strenght in low sec a little, not a big nerf. But something like using it there would make it not useful as in 0.0. They did it for the dictors / HIC , but we're almost still not able to tackle a Mom in low sec , why would it be so easy for him to kick the ass of a little fleet, but solo ? Just because he's ritch he would be able to have fun and not us ? Maybe questionning CCP about this futur should help find answer... They should do something before all yarr become merc / "pvper", or solo roaming nano-pownmobile. |

Meh, stop whining and get yourselves into high sec warfare =)
We've had plenty of really nice fights recently (Kudos to Red and Blue Alliances) and I enjoyed every minute of it regardless of the outcome.
Leave blobs, politics and capitals behind and have some fun in empire =)

Looks like some of the ones we've gotten in lowsec. I get annoyed with cap ships pretty fast as I rarely if ever fly anything larger than a battlecruiser. My alt is training for black ops which will mean that I will be cap-capable... but I don't like the lack of mobility that goes along with it |
