Can anybody tell me about the new lvl 5 mission and what sort of ships and damage you can expect as i will be doing them soon i just need some intel on the missions so i can set ship up before i go please

I've only made one attempt at level 5 missions, and that was on the test server. You can expect pretty massive damage, and having your cap blasted to zero by neut towers in less than a minute.

So use a command ship that doesn't need energy to fire its weapons. Or is that why Moms were in low sec?

Caps can't enter the missions with acceleration gates.

Lvl5 is waste of time.

Neut towers respawn every 10 seconds or so, making passive drakes the tank

Yes lvl 5 missions are for passive tanked caldari ships only. Lvl 5 missions for other races will be implemented within next 7 years.

Once you've drawn aggro, a remote repping scorp works wonders IMO, and lets you maintain an active tank.

All you need is a tanked ship fith high shield/armor and high resists. they get neuted and then you have 1 or more ships that transfer shields/remote rep armor and also do the DMG. Only the 1st ship in gets its cap drained. All other ships are fine and aggro never changes.

^^This is inaccurate. Subsequent spawns in wave style missions seem to target logistics/support as a rule. Also, more annoying, the occasional NPC will drop target and retarget something else. I sent a petition about this when it cost me a basilisk, and the GM confirmed it as intentional Trinity AI behavior.

Ofc, it's quite possible to set up safe spots just beyond the deadspace perimeter to warp your logistics to when needed, and a cloak works well too when you know you're about to pull another spawn. Just be careful, because having the first spawn on your tank doesn't guarantee much in level 5s.

Redundancy is key.
-1 tank to sit there and absorb damage (perferably something that doesn't need cap to fire as you wont have any).

-You'll need at least one logistics ship or one teir 1 battleship fit for logistics (the dominix is a heavy favorite with it's ability to operate 5 large remote reppers and field 5 heavy remote repper drones) and DPS ships.

-Always warp to the mission in your pod first to get those timed spawns rolling.

-Once everything has spawned role in with the tank and the logistics close behind it.

-Once room is secure role in the DPS ships fit for DPS. Make sure that every DPS ship is fit with at least 1 large or medium remote rep in the event your logistics gets targeted.

-Destroy Neut towers last as they respawn if you kill them before the NPC rats.

-Other then that it's just learning the triggers and avoiding the lowsec gankage.

Not only. The passive Tanked Myrmadon is arguably just as good as a Drake and a good argument can be made that it is actually better.

I fly one now fitted with 720mm Scout Artillary.

Totally immune to Neut Towers. Don't need any CAP.

Great using this idea but you loose DPS in the whole mission say your using :-

1) Raven (Golem)
2) Scorp

My setup

1) Nighthawk
2) Raven (Golem)

The nighthawk maybe only needs 5 small Shield bots and if agro is drawn no need to warp both out as they can both perma tank.

actually if u think about it lvl 5's r kind of a waste of time u get more isk from lvl 4's because lvl 5's u jus get missions prize and reward while in lvl 4's i made around 30mil on good ones and thats with out salvage with salvage would be around 50 or 60 but thats ina Angel mission (they have GREAT salvage)
