Ignoring support skills and so forth, what is currently the best interceptor over all?
I am mainly considering Caldari vs Minmatar, but I want to know about all four.

Biggest DPS is the taranis. best alround tackler w/damage is the Malediction. Crusader is a good crow killer. |

It's also kind of ironic how Malediction can't even take full advantage of it's bonus without a sensor booster. |

I See your crow and raise you a Taranis. Fit Rails and make sure to carry Caldari navy Iridium, you're pretty much unbeatable 1v1.

best tackler - ares (speed and range)(sometimes stiletto with sensor boosters for surprising fast warpers)
best soloer ... that depends on the situation (crow for killing cruisers for example but bad against fast moving targets, crusader/taranis with beams/rails, any short range tanked inty with a web against non tanked intyes :) |

Pure personal opinion on ceptors.
Crow, well i used to love this ship, fire and forget weapons, 30k range so no worries of optimal but not so fast and damage was rubbish against other inty's.
I have now gone into the crusader, love the ship, decent damage, good speed, cap a little low and needs to be managed. But saying that orbit and manage range of about 11k and I have yet to lose to another inty. The claw can be pretty effective as well in the same speed 11k orbit situations.
Granted the above have no web but then you have to weigh up the pro's and con's and decide if you want to go with stilleto and maladiction which while good at tackling suck at damage.

The crow is still the most balanced interceptor of the lot. For specific roles there are better inties. |

Somone give me a nice malediction anti interceptor setup while your here. Atm ive got one full speed setup with 2 overdrives and a nanofiber in the lows but i cant help but feel it might benefit from some small tank (treating it as a rocket taranis basically) |

Just fit it like a taranis: 3xRocket II 1xNamed nos 1xMWD II 1xWD II 1xWEB 1xNamed REP 2xNamed Cap Relays I think you need awu 2 or something like that to fit it pg wise. Stick an aux + poly and voila. |

I can vouch that, even though I fly a Crow myself, the standard crow you'll encounter is of very, very little challenge. There are more good Taranis pilots than there are Crow pilots. Malediction is average at everything. Not the best range on tackle but it's faster than the raptor. Not the best DPS but it's more DPS than a Stiletto. Not a great tank but it's better than the Ares.
Crusader is an okay killer if you fit a web and pulses/gatlings. It's main problem is that it either fits a web, or a point. They usually do the point, and I have no trouble at all. Beam DPS is pathetic, so if you start taking damage in a slower ceptor, you usually have plenty of time to escape, thank to the small lock range besides. Beamsaders are good against nano crows though, because they can chase them. Against any other ceptors, beams suck quite a bit.
Raptor is, well... The raptor. For such a badass name, it's so... crappy for anything besides pod griefing.
Claw was amazing. Back in the day, anyway, when average ceptor speeds were 4-6k. It was the top dog. Now, well... If you nano it for ceptor killing, you're an idiot. First off, you're paper thin. Second, you're not agile enough even with nanos. Third, 20km or so lock range, you'll be out of it in a sec. Have fun relocking. If you plate it, it's too slow and fat to do anything. Accelerates too slowly, yadda yadda.
Stiletto is mean as **** with medium extender + ACs. I'll dread the day that I have to deal with one again. Nice tackler too, with four mids.
Ares, well, forget damage completely. It's a tackler.
Taranis... Well.. Taranisaurus Wrex. Get the picture? When you meet the enemy gang, and they have one of these, and you're a ceptor, you better kill him first, because if he has any sense he'll be all over you while you take a look at the cruisers or whatever he's with. Even 1v1 they're bastards with overheating. Thank God for inertia, even while webbed; Even with me orbiting at 11km/s they've come too close for comfort. Never been hit once by one though. If they have blasters, and I'm close enough to get hit, it's already over.
My personal ranking of **** I'm afraid of while flying a Crow:
Taranis > Crusader > Stiletto > Malediction > Crow > Raptor > Claw > Ares |

Inties I have flown:
Crusader - good for shooting stuff, I guess... fast, but I don't plan on buying another
Claw - Artillery and fast. I like.
Malediction - don't like, tbh.
Stiletto - can fit 2nd web, sensor boost or battery in 4th mid, useful, but lack of lows makes me :(
What Im thinking of training for:
Ares - web+scram+4lows = awesome?
So, just looking at stats without any EFTwhoring, Ares is best I think. |

I'd go 3x rockets 1x small ac(or DLPII) mwd/web/scram 2x OD, 1x DCII But i'm sure both work just fine. |
