I wouldn't expect much stability if it runs at all.

Being an MSDN subscriber I really wouldn't recommend Longhorn for a long time. As a minimum you will need 512meg to boot (it took USED 484meg to boot my laptop). The only real advantage is if you wish to start learning to program using WinFS interface.

If you do want to try it though there should be no reason why it will not run but as the previous poster said, don't expect it to be as reliable as XP/2K etc.

Good luck :-)

My experience is that it's a good idea to wait for at least a year before switching to a new major Windows release. Sometime after the first Service Pack has had its security patches usually seems to be a good point to start considering a change. Very Happy

I am definitely for you installing and playing with the longhorn PDC release- but you should do so knowing it will not be as efficient or polished as XP. Longhorn is a work in progress and is several years away from release, and that is what you should expect when using it.

That release is intended to give developers a preview so they can start designing their apps to work with longhorn's API set.

It is not intended to be a games platform at this stage in it's development life cycle. I percieve it as being a realistic demand at around RC1 or RC2.
