So who needs this thread?

but seriously. I've got a question to those out there in a relationship and looking for some PvP. have you ever had this happen?

that you find a nice target;

you get set up and then suddenly your wife/GF/better half/annoying half etc etc. calls you on the phone/comes running over to you hunched over your game, all excited about something....

meanwhile your trying to lock your opponent, kill his drones off, web him down. and she's going on about how she wants you to look at something and needs your attention and of course you try to be the good guy and give her some attention (but of course not all! dammit your busy trying to kill someone!)

and she keeps going on... your trying to please her, look at what she wants (as she's waiting for your input) and also trying to kill a guy.....

for me the result.

flying 40km too from my opponent (left MWD on due to wife distraction) losing lock and web losing my drones, killing none of his. and eventually lost my ship... (I also got in trouble for obviously not giving her my undivided attention etc etc)

has this ever happened to anyone other than me? seems my wife has this built in micro chip in her brain that when I get into solo pvp that's right when she calls, comes to ask me a question, needs my help etc etc....

*moderated*

while alot of people will laugh and say OWNED (PWND) your right. but not by my opponent. By my wife...

I would like to dedicate this thread to all the poor souls who are forced to take out the garbage in the middle of a pvp op only to come back and find themselves in a station.

Hahaha, I lost a Maelstrom with tech II goodies that way. So, don't feel alone in this mate. I swore to myself only to fly battlecruisers and smaller into combat after that. Wink

i would say you should drop a hefty hundred million isk bounty on her head. But bounty is still borked Sad

Or.. get her a kid. All of a sudden your input doesnt matter.

I laughed at this, I actually got married in the first year of my time in EvE so I'd like to think she understands when she can or can't interrupt if she wants a response! It can be frustrating as sod's law applies where you're about to get a sweet kill and then the wife comes in to tell you about your social calender for the weekend that she's just organized, I think the best bet is use MSN if you need to communicate since 2 sets of voice comms can be confusing but another chat window is easier to cope with! Yeah, the thing is it always happens JUST as you agress or commit, would they ask for attention like 10 seconds earlier all would have been well.

Been there, done that :(

Find someone less demanding and more understanding. Also, someone who realizes that world does not revolve around her and that she cant expect you to drop everything just because she wants you to see something.

OMG i so understand you.
My gf can't wait for 30 bloody seconds. Than, when she sees (or i tell her) how i lost a ship she's all 'I'm sorry, oh, i'm so sorry, i didn'0t mean to...'
The worst part is that she doesn't reall ymean to, i mean, she's sorry because i0m sorry, but in her head it's a stupid game and she doesn't get what is there to be sorry about...

My wife will bug me even when I've got my headset on and I'm gabbing on vent.

The funny thing is, my wife plays WoW and gets all bent out of shape when I do the same to her. lol

Get her a Mastercard or get yourself an axe, a roll of plastic bags and a pickup truck.

Either works.

Heh you've pretty much written the story of my life Laughing

Actually, my wife comes over and sits down on my legs right between me and the monitor/keyboard on a regular basis just when I activated warp through a deadspace-gate or while traveling through low-sec Neutral.

yah, this the price of having relationship. but you, men ask yourself this, what you going to do without women huh? you cannot live without us. no matter how much she nags, she more worth then all your ships,POS and whatnot. and she make you happy in all aspects (or should be or you into something bad). so next time you die cuz of her interrupting, you better die with smile. ugh

When it usualy kicks in with me is during the set up for a fleet battle 5-10 mins before the opposing (sometimes unaware) fleet comes to kill us I get "asked" to do ..... chore or the kids require some atention. So I say to the guys I have to dock for a few mins and head off to the nerest station. Once I come back I head out to the battle field only to see it riddled with corpses and ridicule from my mates about how I was too afraid to fight lol

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, an so do quite a few of my corp m8s. Leads to funny conversations on vent and humourous aspersions being cast from time to time.

Fortunately, my gf knows better since I work in the industry and anything game related falls under 'work' to her. So she doesnt really bother me.

Happens to me on occassion. Sometimes I believe she thinks my willingness to lose a ship to pay attention to her is proof that I love her.

There is a really easy solution to all of this.

30Mins in the bedroom....your good for the rest of the night.

Well works for me.

If not get her a WoW acct and tell her to stfu.

Works too.

Just tell her your busy for 10min and after that gladly look at her new bag, shoes, haircut or whatever.

Doing both just messes up both. So its better just accepting that she will be annoyed for a while and kill that ship. Then log and tell her
"the new shoes are beautiful honey"
"you think so?" watches herself in mirror
"ye really, they look awesome on you" put arms around her.

And try to say it like you actually care about how the shoes look even though you naturally don't care or think shes got 5 other shoes looking almost the same. Then she is happy whole day.

Cool
