Hi All,

I'm curious as to what ship-type most people use for level 3 missions. Right now my Vexor is doing quite happily in any and all level 2's. With my 1600mm tungsten plate on board there's only really one mission that comes close to breaking my armour -- The Blockade with its many cruisers.

So, for level 3 missions... would a Vexor hold up? Or what other ship should I use? Do most move on to BCs?

Any and all comments and perspectives are appreciated. Maybe some tips on things to watch out for in level 3's that don't show up in 2's? I rarely get damped in 2's... will more ships damp/EW/scram in 3's?

I did some in a cruiser, but switching to a battlecruiser made some of the more difficult ones (extravaganzas etc) easier.

You will wind up fighting battlecruisers in level III misisons.

I do lv. 3s in a Myrm but I could do them in a Vexor just as well if I wanted to.

The main thing for me is to be able to run a T2 medium repper for long periods of time without running out of cap and having at least 80% resistances against the damage types the rats do, both of which would be easy enough on a cruiser, and if you use T2 medium drones as your main source of damage a well-managed Vexor will do just as well as a Myrm.

Here's the fit I use on my Myrm (from memory so some of the names might be a bit off)

4x 250mm 'Scout' I Accelerator Cannon (switch between Tungsten M at long range and Antimatter M at short range)
Medium 'Arup' I Remote Bulwark Reconstructor
Drone Link Augmentor

Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners
Medium Cap Battery II
3x Cap Recharger II

Medium Armor Repper II
Gallente Navy EANM
Radioisotope Thermal/Kinetic/Explosive Hardeners

2x Auxilary Nanopump I

10x Hammerhead II
10x Hobgoblin II

Drones do about 80% of my damage, in some missions I'll just aggro the whole room, launch my drones, and go AFK for a bit. Like I said though, there's nothing I do in my Myrm a well-fit, well-managed Vexor wouldn't be able to do.

Running lvl 3's with a Myrm, shield tanked.

3 Dual 150mm 'Scout'
2 Salvagers
1 Drone link Augmentor

4 LSE II, 1 Invul t2

3x Core Defence Field Purger I

5 t2 drones (med)

Only place my tank crumbled was on a important 10-step mission (the one with 2 big BS/BC/frig spawns - 5 BSs in each spawn, lots of other ships). Took one of the spawns easy, the 2nd took my shield (running same setup, haven't actually changed for rat specific hardners).

Thanks for the input. I might be better off saving and moving into a Myrm. Right now I can only field T1 drones and a T1 repper. I think I'll stick with level 2's in my Vexor since they're pretty easy and consistent and wait till barge5/exhumer3 finish and then I'll fund my next mission running phase with my Covetor or Hulk.

train battcruisers to lvl1 and youd easily own any lvl3 mission. id even go as far as to say that a bc is overkill for a lvl3 but makes it oh so easy.

I would agree with those above me, train BC and you will be just fine in lvl 3 missions. You can even handle some lvl 4 missions in a BC.
