how can you even use that word offensively??

Lay down the crack pipe if you can't see how this can be used offensively.

On the other hand making comments on sniffing a bunch of lines of coke isn't blocked in any way.

But meh messages like these should be moderated and not some filter since the word crack is used in a lot of different words, just as line and coke.

yeah as you said yourself - that's ridiculous because then you have to censor every single word that could be used any offensive sentance imagined. Where does it stop?

Didn't pwn come about because some game servers banned typing 'owned' as a taunt?

Dunno, I always assumed it was just a typo that caught on

A Lady was awarded Millions by a court when she opened the top of her coffee and placed the cup between her legs while driving, hit a bump and found out the coffee was hot...

That one is an urban legend. One of the details out of those you list is true but she wasn't driving and the cup was closed. She was burned by the paper.

Story

I stand corrected...

Note that I'm not disputing whether burning yourself with coffee and getting a fortune in damages is over the top. But it's one of those stories that gets better every time it's told. I suffered burns over most of my legs from cocoa as a child. It was knocked over by someone else and all. Nobody got sued.

I understood that, I also feel that one story gets modified with each telling in no way diminishes that if you have an "Offended" person, a Lawyer and a Judge then you have the makings of a Lawsuit... Oh, and that Companies go out of their way to try to protect themselves as best they can.

For those that are not aware...

Lawsuit abuse

This is why there are filters, this is what you may be opening CCP up to when you avoid the filter...

Then again, it could be some other game fuction or item that someone takes them to court over...

For the neccesary protection CCP could keep the filter in place on public access on the boards, then when logged in it should be made a choice. This way sensible people can choose to turn the filter off. For underage clients i'll turn to my earlier statement on parental responsibility. Make the feature password protected. For the overprotective kind of parent only their own responsibility to protect their children's actions remains.

Right.... to stop the damn arguing.

Snigger = A sly, suppressed and muffled laugh.
Sniggerdly = To do something while suppressing laughter.

That is ENGLISH! (i.e. not bloody American).

Now to get back to the complaint at hand.

When the word censor gets updated, I suggest that a word be added to the filter;

The word "nerf" should not be allowed to grace this forum ever again.

I would include the word "carebear" in that as well.... but I hate all censoring.
