I've been looking for a very small mouse to go with my very small laptop but i've been having mixed results, does anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer something NOT wireless so a retractable cord is a big big bonus.
There may be a small isk gift involved for someone if they can tell me a particularly nice one. i'm allowed to do that aren't i?

yeah, they're about right but i'm looking for something with high build quality, I used to have that exact Belkin mouse and it didn't take long to break.

*edit* you know what, i'll accept wireless ideas too, wireless is probably a lot better now these days

I'm a brand loyalist......its not small though, and I don't think it has a retractable cord. Its pretty cheap though.

This one is wireless and claims to have the worlds smallest receiver.

EDIT: Wrong markup

Is this a case of you want a mouse to work with a laptop that is your main, or near-main machine? Or are you looking for the simplest, smallest, most portable solution for a field-machine?

Because if its the latter; you're just looking for the smallest mouse so you can do, in the field, the occasional mouse thing you can't do with a keyboard... then I have nothing to offer.

If, however, you're looking for a mouse to fit an oft used - but very portable - machine, and you've decided a small mouse fits your lifestyle... I'd urge you to reconsider. Get a big, comfortable desktop mouse, and learn to include in your kit a suitable surface for mousing. 8 x 10 inches of one quarter Luan, sanded and spar-varnished, should be pleasing to both hand and mouse.

I look at those teensy mouses and cringe. Just the thought of using one for more than a dozen clicks in an hour makes my hand cramp.
