Lets talk about hybrid NPC/Conquerable regions like Fountain and Delve. Doesn't EVE need more? This idea seems like a good stepping stone for smaller alliances and mission running would be nice in some of the outer regions like Cache and Omist. This would also pull more people into the 0.0, a needed thing as we live in a post 12-15 world.

This is quite a good idea, my friend. As we've seen in the past, hybrid regions are often both crucibles and wombs for new 0.0 alliances, allowing them to experience 0.0 regions without the logistics requirements of pure 0.0.

Do we really need another Outer Ring though? Last I checked, the population of the entire region was 3 -- 2 were macro ratters, and 1 guy that got lost and couldn't find his way back out.

Yarr, although frustrating when your enemy can't be driven out of them, they do serve a purpose.

i think it's high time that we have a jovian area like this and that the jove can be aligned with whatever alliance has majority soverignty in there, like they respect the power that the alliance has gained.

Can you imagine the Jovian rats though? Try explaining to your CEO why your mining op of 12 barges and 4 battleships was wiped out by a belt rat frig.

Should just be some better spacing of those areas. Just how NPC space is pretty evenly distributed across the galaxy. Sort of like a Starcraft map.

This is a great idea. This could tie into the factional warfare if its ever released, letting you align with pirate factions as well as the empire factions. I can imagine a lot of good RP opportunities as well.

This could become a fairly subjective topic. As most of us know, loot is currently sorted by meta-level (much like alliances) - with low-quality loot rated a low meta-level and officer and faction loot rated at a higher meta-level.

With Jovian loot, this scale is not definitively accurate. Role-playing alliances would most likely prefer Jovian craft to drop very high meta-level loot, leading to an unbalancing of power between the new hybrid regions and previously available regions. New spawns would have to be added to existing regions that drop enhanced loot in order to maintain the status quo.

I think jovian ships could be killable, they just have very high resists, like 99%, right? It may be worthwhile to try killing one for the loot, plus I'd imagine agents would offer insane faction points for a jovian tag.

This could actually become quite well done. Something akin to a Jovian Titan, needing between 50-100 pilots of good skill to kill.

Why? Don't they only offer points for enemy tags? Jovians aren't anyones enemy I thought.

Sounds like Evolution at work, you see. Because when a species has to work to counteract a weapon of a species enemy, it over time can develop a natural counter, sometimes even the weapon being used against it. Thus, through Evolution the Goons have developed Omnipotence Itself.

well they would just be equal to doing level 5 missions you just need a lot of people to band together to kill them but the loot they drop is amazingly good (better than officer-named modules) and they actually increase your standings towards jove for showing your true strength

Jovians would have KILLER implants since they are all into biotechnology and whatnot. This could have a big impact on the economy and who controls the regions (think snake or slave implant mission runners TIMES TEN NO LESS). Releasing such powerful factions must be done with a gentle hand on CCPs part and will have big ramifications on the value of all non high security space zones.

also a dynamic security level system could be implanted in some areas much like concorde, however they only protect enemy npc haulers going from station to station. if you can stay the tank of the security ships (not like concorde who are way too powerful) then you can loot the hauler and get tons of stuff and possibly shoot the security ships as well (more would not spawn as it would be like an encounter)

OTOH (on the other hand) I feel there needs to be some RP justification for NPCs all of the sudden setting up stations where players have already lain stake to. The argument for more hybrid regions to entice players into 0.0 is a sound one however could stand to be convincing from an RP perspective.

it would just be a matter of either alliances allying and sharing territory with these npc factions or the npc could start warring the alliance. it makes for interesting gameplay

Npcs shooting me would be novel, but surely it would get old sooner or later. Especially after you figured out the optimal way to beat them on EFT.
