It's that time again, and now we're going for a double portion. The first story is part of our regular storyline, and is in fact a crucial part that you don't want to miss. Nothing will be the same after this. The second story is a background piece that gives you insight into the faction that is the Society of Conscious Thought. Since it doesn't forward the Black Mountain storyline I decided to publish it alongside a more regular story. I'll do the same for the Sisters of EVE later on. |

Edited by: Xcom on 19/11/2007 18:19:53 At last. Thx for another episode.
Edit: Btw the text seems corrupt. There are some weard things like "'" in the "Some Dying Angel" story text. |

Edited by: CCP Abraxas on 19/11/2007 22:22:32Weird. The apostrophes show up perfectly normal when viewed with Firefox, but not with IE. We'll sort it out; sorry about the inconvenience. Edit: It's been sorted, only half an hour later. All hail our Web Cell. Originally by: Elise Masutra great story as always. keep them coming, although i miss the little unrelated chronicles a bit
Thanks. After Black Mountain is done (March or April of 2008), I'll probably go back to the regular, self-contained chronicles. It's fun to do a serial novella every now and then, for variety's sake. |

And so it begins to fall into place. Hyperconsciousness puts a new perspective on the story Inertia in particular for me. It will be interesting to see if my suspicions turn out to be right. |

We have been having storeys based around the Jove for months now. Any chance we could move on to the other interesting advance races like the Yan Jung or Enheduanni or one of the others? |

the masterpieces just keep coming!loved the fact it took place on the inside of a ship, cauze its really difficult envisioning exactly what its like under all those tonnes of armored hull. initially, i used to think that it didn't have an interior, just a place for a pod to slot in.... anyway, setting aside, weve finally had the obligatory surreal experience that seems to be in every piece of writing nowadays. Not that theres anything wrong with it mind you, just that after awhile, u can put together the whole scene just by reading the first line...still, the plot thickens, along with the guts and blood that eve is stuffed with but that we never really get to see(excuse the imagery). love it. Go Abraxas! |

As usual, very nice.
Question: Did I miss it, or does Nale not have a last(?) name? I'd like to name a ship after him, but "Nale" alone is a bit short. "Sister Nale" isn't much better... |

Excellent. I'm always glad to ruin someone else's education. Originally by: Pottsey We have been having storeys based around the Jove for months now. Any chance we could move on to the other interesting advance races like the Yan Jung or Enheduanni or one of the others?
We have? I could've sworn the Jove were quite elusive. We haven't seen a single one in Black Mountain; at least, not that we know of. Originally by: Razoran anyway, setting aside, weve finally had the obligatory surreal experience that seems to be in every piece of writing nowadays. Not that theres anything wrong with it mind you, just that after awhile, u can put together the whole scene just by reading the first line...
I usually skip over dream-sequences, because all they do is foreshadow what's going to be happening in the rest of the story, and since I'm reading the bloody book, presumably I'm going to find out anyway. This one, though, wasn't a dream sequence, and will have very serious consequences for the rest of Black Mountain, so I'd consider it worthwhile. It also has some fairly blatant literary references, and if you get those, other things (including the names of Nale and his teammembers, and the description of Draea's cohorts) are brought into sharper focus. There was once someone who stood on Black Mountain and didn't jump. Originally by: Cyberman Mastermind Question: Did I miss it, or does Nale not have a last(?) name? I don't often reveal characters' last names, particularly if there's some symbolic significance to their first names. (It's hard enough making this stuff up without having to do it twice over ). In Nale's case, though, he has no last name at all. Funny, that ... |

Nice read so far. Are there any in-game references to what’s happening here? I’m new to EVE and as much as I like the game mechanics (I’ve seen so far), I struggle hard with the mission design. I really have difficulties to see a story in the game. It would marvellous if I could find references in-game to what is written here. |

The two (or was it three) missing words in "Some Dying Angel" aside, awesome read! Just got to say, sucks to be the Society. I'm still confused about who the "good guys" and the "bad guys" are, as I feel there's some major twist that hasn't been revealed yet. Keep up the fantastic work, and I want it to be Monday already! |

Edited by: Pottsey on 02/12/2007 11:13:12 "We have? I could've sworn the Jove were quite elusive. We haven't seen a single one in Black Mountain; at least, not that we know of." The storeys have all been based around the Jove. From the Jove device they are all hunting to the Society of Conscious thought which is a Jove organisation. The Jove have been in the background of the stories for months. Which isn’t bad as it works well. It’s just as a request I would like to see some of the other advance’s race’s in the background more often.
The Jove are not the only super advance interesting race out there and for months the Jove have been in the background.

There was a good point made earlier about many of the stories related to the Jovians as the only advanced race out there. How about some chronicles about the Sleeper, Takmahl, Talocan, Yan Jung. All we know from them are the descriptions from the skill books. |
