My guess would be a Dev char. since i asume they would have been amongst the first created... and are not likely to have been sold on e-bay over the last 5 years.

U know, it would be interesting to have a few statistics, i know i'm definitly not the oldest player in EVE but i've never really taken a break except when i went on holiday for 2 weeks.

I must admit that i do wonder sometimes how hi i'm up there regarding playtime and sp, not that it really matters offcourse, just pure curiosity Very Happy

could it be me?

Nope, I thought it for a while.
But after a hunt, I found there's two characters that're older.

So there's probably more out there.

This account went live on release day, but I rerolled Avon after a couple of days .. and managed to, against all odds, gimp him further.

Some interesting stuff:

My 5 year anniversay is November 14th. I actually found the e-mail I got when I was accepted into the beta.

First corp I tried joining during beta and I made a n00b mistake in the process:

I'm Duke Droklar, the ceo of Omega Corp. I didn't post a reply concerning your adding yourself to our corp without applying first as I did not want to embaress you. I'm assuming you either joined the wrong corp by mistake or you thought that this is how you join a corp. If you desire membership in Omega Corp I would be happy to receive your application for membership. You will find our home website at . After you've read up on us a bit you will find our membership application under the "recruitment" page.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about our corp. I will be removing you from our corp list until you officially apply and have been accepted. Do not worry as this is an easy thing for people to assume when visiting Eve.

LOL! Woops!

Later in the beta, I joined another corp that I believe is still around. Very good group of people but there was a split right before retail. Colossustech split into Colossus Technologies and Final Horizon. Final Horizon merged with Foundation in late 2003.

"Congratulations from Colossustech, you have now been accepted into the corp.

You will be added to chanserv and the forum as a full member. You are also now permited to place [CT]Infront of your name in the IRC channel and would really like it if you would, as this is the name we will add to chanserv so you will need to register it and change your perform.

Thank you and congratulations.

Hideki Tenkawa

Second in command of Colossus Technologies"

This stuff brings back good memories. I also found some beta e-mails regarding ingame events. Good stuff.

Today is our last day before EVE's release to the world.

We have been beta testing EVE since August 31, 2002. This has been a learning experience and the game has gone through extensive redesigns, fixes, trials, and tribulations. We thank you all for your contribution during this period.

Today in EVE we are experiencing "Armageddon Day" - where anything is possible. All character skills have been set to level 5, your wallet is swollen with 500.000.000 ISK. Battleships, cruisers, and all the modules you could ever want are for sale on the markets - feel free to join the crowd on Tranquility tonight for the ultimate beta experience!

In less than 24 hours, the new Tranquility universe will be online, wiped and clean from any player infestation. Yet shortly after 09:00 GMT tomorrow, a wave of hungry galactic seekers will pour forth into the new universe, spreading their capitalist dreams and dominating the weak. There will be horrible wars and bloodshed, as massive military equipment is churned out of every available piece of heavy industry. Large corporations will enforce their own, twisted "laws" -- taking advantage of any poor souls who happen to venture unknowingly into their domain.

Destruction and reckless abandon. And you all helped to create it!

The EVE Online Team"

I also found some correspondence with Playboy's Heff regarding bids to buy an Apocalypse Original BP as a joint venture...when owning BS's was uber! LOL. The copy we got was turned into a limited copy later in the game.
