If it's an exploit to use newb ships to distract the defenses of a POS, why would it not be an exploit to use newb ships at a station to distract Concord so it took longer to reply to an attack in a belt?

dun' think ya can actually distract concord.

get them to spawn in one place for a nubship suicide run and they will still appear in the belt or wherever ya like just as fast as they ever would.

Let me guess...You got ganked in a Belt?

Although I've never tried it myself it would take some pretty rightous timing and the delay would be very small.

Manned guns ftw.

Besides that I don't think the newb ship stuff is exploit anyway.

You can't distract CONCORD. They spawn where and when they're needed. There aren't a finite number of them in any given system.

errrm, it doesnt work like that, as said by other posters,

Concord spawns anywhere that they are needed...

so, it wont do a thing to concord really, if you shoot a player at a station and they come...

Just an update. I was in 0.7 space. It took 22 seconds for them to pop my Hulk and a total of 31 seconds for Concord to even show up. It is possible to distract Concord.

I beleive it takes longer in lower sec. Hence its not so safe.

noob. the time concord needs to come has NOTHING to do with any kind of player interaction.
me and a corp mate have spawned concord in belts all over a system. u could see all 15 belts full of concord ships AT SAME TIME.

Hey Flame Kiddy bugger off, as to the posting, any use of a Rookie Frigate other then the intended purpose such as distracting pos guys, delaying the death of your attacker etc is an active exploit. As to suicide ganking in empire I'm all for them so long as the wreaks are treated as hot cargo (illegal, contraband) and your getting a larger sec hit ships worth -5, pod -10, oh yeah and the last one ZERO INSURANCE payouts to the criminal.

Its like calling your insurance company and saying "Hey the cops shot my car all to pieces when i was robbing the bank last Tuesday wheres my insurance check?" , they would tell you enjoy jail and not pay you. You want to suicide for the loot, awesome giver anyone dumb enough to carry 100+ mil worth of stuff in their t1 haulers deserves what comes to them. But no insurance payout if concord kills you.

I'd have to agree, insurance payouts to criminals is stupid. It encourages criminal behavior where it is supposed to deterred.

Ganking miners in belts or haulers at gates is criminal. Some may call it griefing. Why does CCP allow it to continue?

nope. every "crime" just causes completely separate concord ships to spawn right on top of the criminals.

it's not like they have to warp there from some super-secret police station in deep space - making sure their whole fleet is aligned and to speed before warping.

the game just creates new ships in range, locking on, and waving politely through the port holes with middle fingers extended.

CONCORD is a procedural NPC. You can't distract it and it will ALWAYS show up when you break the law. I'm pretty sure CONCORD will spawn about 500 squads before a relatively empty system starts to tank. As far as I know, if you last long enough to fire back at CONCORD, another squad spawns, and so on.

They can instalock you, lock you while cloaked, and almost instantly pop you.

you cant distract concord, unless they are one the same grid but farther than 150km away

I ran out of interesting 1st page threads

And even that got fixed recently, they were given the ability to insta-short-warp to your location if you're farther away in the same grid... they no longer slow-boat to you.

actually - its not that simple.
yes, concord does spawn whan neded, but as far as i figured out - the size of the spawn is relative to criminal activity. for example, i suiside gank on one gate. concord will be there from there on. i does mean that in 99% chanses it has gone from the other gate. hoever, if you try to draw it to a moon of something by using a nub ship to atak something ...only a small portion will turn up. that does mean hoever that the gate will have less concord.

before everyone wil start shouting :concord is infinetanditdoesntworklikethat!!! - it does - i have tried it. it may be infinet but the mechanics seems to have a parten of movement . if it didnt niarnia would have 7000corcord ships spawning everyfew houres.

"distracting" concord isnt actually an axploit i dont think. evading concord is.

I doubt most people that get ganked in high sec are really in any state of mind to be able to keep accurate track of time at the time of the attack (with adrenalin and all as they are taken by surprise). So, this whole "it took 30 seconds for Concord to get there" stuff I take with lots of salt.

Here is some metal, in a large tube (or maybe half tube). It's violet and it seems to radiate. I don't know what it is. It's strange.

Ah yes, Potus. The guy who decided to warp back to the ice belt several times in his pod after getting his ship blown up and stay there for the same duration to the second before going back to the station and so on. An exploit you say, hmmm, sounds serious.

I think you read something wrong. I was in the belt in my ship and when it blew up, I was in my pod. I didn't warp to the belt in a pod.

He was actually AFK as he was at work, how do i know this i ask, because i was mining right beside him i.e. within 5km, he forgot to dock as he ran out to work, and i ended up calling his ass to dock his pod before he lost it. You want kill someone who using macro's use your brain next time and maybe try and convo if its an instant reject theres a good chance they are macro'ers as they enable it by default, them if no response give a shout in local and see if anyone claims them, lots of people fall asleep mining ice in .7 (hence the use of a hulk) its a little to exciting for the taking.... Maybe for future make sure they are macroing and not simply AFK mining with a large cargo hold to you may be surprised and the legit miners normally frown pretty heavy on Marcro'ers and will be more then willing to point out the macro'ers to you as CCP has no interest in taking them out of the game it would appear.... Also use your head some, why would a 2004 Crit risk his account to mine less then 20m in ice a day by using a macro?

On another not you want PVP combat head out to lowsec if you feel the need to stroke your e-peen and try and grief someone.... Have a great day.

Your ship dies which is all concord is interested in.
