On my in-game Notepad, the title is "Game Suggestion VIII"

Suggestion: Train more than one skill simultaneously, for an extra $2/month for every extra skill in training

To train ALL obtainable skills to level 5 in the game will take over 25 years, as read from other players. So many of us want to find ways to train faster, and the current ways- Learning skills and implants, are not enough for a good portion of all pilots.

CCP could always use a lot of extra money so could we be allowed to have more than one skill in training at the same time, for extra fees?

Here is how it would go:

+$2/month to train 2 skills at once.
+$4/month to train 3 skills at once.
+$6/month to train 4 skills at once.
+$8/month to train 5 skills at once.

...and so on

Many will claim that this will make EVE not an even playing field anymore. The truth is, some people are poorer than others so they have to stop playing EVE altogether on some months. Some who still play have slower and older computers than others, so they cannot play as well as players with the newest systems out there. Many want to play EVE but do not even have a computer, so there has never been an even playing field all this time.

CCP could always use extra money lets just increase the subsription fee then they can just sell isk (oh wait I forgot about gtc's) they can sell ships, mods, implants, and rigs for $$$ BECAUSE THEY JUST NEED THE EXTRA MONEY

THEY CAN ALSO CHARGE US TO JUMP INTO JITA OR TO USE HIGH SEC

YEAH IT JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER!

Not to sound rude, but have you given this any thought besides "hey, this might be a good idea"? The amount of imbalance that this would add to the game is staggering. If the amount of skills that you could queue up in this fashion is only limited by dollars, then a wealthy player could crap out a few hundred bucks and pretty much finish his training within two months if the prerequisite skills are trained in the right order (another giant issue with this idea).

In EVE, we are at least given the option to buy game time with ISK, so real money is not an issue for a player who is not an idiot. (And why concentrate on protecting those that are?) Slower computers have no impact on your ability to afford to play the game because they do not increase the amount of money that CCP charges for your subscription, nor do they increase the cycle of Miner Is to twenty minutes. Finally, those that do not play EVE at all should probably not be included in your supporting statistical arguments. You would not consider all the people that do not drink soda in your research to determine whether Coke or Pepsi is preferred by those that do, would you?

Now, if you edit your idea to increase skill training time proportionally to the amount of skills trained, you would be on to something interesting. Unfortunately, about half of the EVE player base already thought of that one.

This has been implemented since launch. $15 a month for each additional skill you want to train. Drawback: it won't be on the same character.

No. NO. No.

The amount of cash someone can throw at the skill list should never determin the amount of functionality in it.

2 major flaws in your genius idea.

1) this would easily let some players to max out every skill in the game in the next 3-4 months tops
2) players that started recently will still be behind because everyones gonna have to pay more in order to keep up (that is those that dont just bail on the game)

I'm just wondering why we aren't allowed to train skills on other characters at the same time on one account? Or does this have something to do with people "throwing away characters"?

Aiiii! Dis be no good plan at all Shocked
I know we're not really supposed to simply "shoot down" ideas, but allowing people to simply buy their way into a shortcut to ueber-ness would be just about the worst thing that could happen to Eve...

I'm poor. In terms of the expense:entertainment ratio, EvE is cheaper than movie tickets, cheaper than beer, cheaper than cable television and cheaper than bowling. The change you suggest would turn EvE into a rich man's sport, with us peons trudging along as second-class citizens. If this gets implemented, you can have my stuff.

Person 1: Hey, I'm a rich adult able to make enough money to run 20 accounts at once all mining to give me several hundred million ISK a day or more. And now I can spend an extra $120 a month so all my characters can train 4 skills at once and I can be uber! Isn't that great!

Person 2: Well I'm a 16 year old who barley makes enough to pay for one account let alone 20 and extra and money to train more skills at once so now I have no point playing this game since everyone skills several times faster then me and they already had mining alts to get more money than me! Isn't that great!

Blech... No.

Edit: Also, CCP would lose money like this. Character than can train 3 skills at once - 21/month. 3 individual characters - 45/month.

I will say ok to this idea, if the skill time costs no less than $1 per sp. If CCP is going to make moeny off of it they may aswell be able to swim in a pool of it.

And my suggestion would be to criminally flag everybody who did this so i could kos whnever i felt like it. Then they can afford to put each sytem on its own sever reducing the lag greatly, everybody winsVery Happy
