I've been noticing this week that if I leave one account inactive, but am actively playing on the second account, the inactive one disconnects. Leave both inactive, both accounts disconnect. This has been since the latest patch. A corp mate said that while ice mining, the ice miner account will disconnect if he's doing hauling operations on the other account that exceeds 5 minutes or so leaving the ice miner in effect afk (ice cycle timer is 5+ minutes on that character apparently).

Is anyone else seeing this type of behavior?

Yep I have the same problem. I thought it was likely to be my Internet, but if I'm not the only one...

I thought that EVE would always D/C you after a period of inactivity, but I know before it was like 1hr+?

nope, never has.
I don't seem to be having this problem, as we speak my char is afk autopiloting 20+ jumps with no issues.

it isn't an afk timer, I can leave an alt in rens all day to log the local chatter, my guess is just a desync issue, because the client stops talking to the server

I was leaving rolly afk for extended periods all last week and the week before(14 hours a day whilst I was working) He was just thrusting in a straight line in new eden.
Hasn't disconnected yet, my alt rollio has dropped twice whilst moving around on auto pilot.

Go figure.

I think the chat servers a different server..? I reset my router and my Eve on one computer stayed running while I logged in on my other. Didn't realize it. I played for hours on my second computer. When I went upstairs to the first, it still was open in Eve with Chat dialog updating. As soon as I did something on that client though, it disconnected.

Anyway, I can leave eve mining in 1.0 and afk for hours (mowing lawn) come back and still be sitting where I was... I don't think they disconnect ya. It doesn't make sense in Eve, unlike other games..

Hasnt happened to me. I sat on a pos 2 weeks ago, went to sleep, woke up 9 hours later and was still on...did some stuff left it for another 2 hours and still no disconnect. It must be the ISP.

Was having horrible disconnect issues after the RevII and database hardware upgrades.. Eventually I got around to resetting my router and now I can play all day long without any disconnects.. Not saying this will solve your problems but its something to look at..
