Edited by: Guillame Herschel on 08/08/2007 21:58:12 So I'm taking Khanid Mk II for a spin tonight on the test server, and wanted to see if a Battle Anathema with Rockets might be viable.
How's this look for a start:
Hi: Covert Ops Cloak II, 2x DG Rocket Launchers Mid: Phased Muon SD, 2x 90% webbers, Warp Scram II Lo: DCU II, Dread Guristas BCU or BCU II, 200mm RRT Rigs: 1 ROF and 1 Damage
Anathema has plenty of CPU to fit the faction launchers even with the rig drawbacks. The idea I had was to sneak up on targets cloaked, then lock them down hard and hold out until the big guns arrive. Does that sound reasonable?
I calculate a ROF of less than 2 sec. which is a pretty spammy rocket barrage, and something like 50 dps.

Nice thought but why would a covert ops ever do combat. *Remember rockets range is like 5 km* |

Because it can easily choose its targets, same reason people fly Force Recons. Also, Rockets can reach 10km with a modest skill investment. Rigs and T2 extend that even further. |

People fly Force Recons because they are designed for combat. Covert Ops frigs aren't and I doubt will ever be designed for combat, your meant to bring 1, 2 or 100 people down on a spot not try to solo.. a newbie frig in it? |

I've heard of people flying Battle Anathemas today, with lasers, as gimpy as the ship is in its present state and having success because of the stealth factor (and for the "ZOMG this Anathema is attacking me!" novelty). Khanid MkII is only going to improve that. The main limiting factor for Covert Ops frigs is the very low PG. I can get a plate on, or a armor repairer, or a MWD, but only one of those, else I can't fit any rockets. Plate seems best, and if you are going to passive armor tank you should use a DCU and let your hull add some HP too.
Since the Khanid MkII Anathema is going to get a capacitor recharge bonus, maybe 2 damps and 1 webber would be an improvement. The remote dampener is the only cap-hungry module on it.

i doubt the damp would help you much if you try to engage with your rockets, better use a mwd (makes you also survive a gatecamp). i'd suggest getting close to your target, let your gang warp to you and uncloak/jam it just before they arrive, leaving as soon as another ship has tackled it. and about fitting dg bcu and launchers on this: |

2 Damps, 1 web.
One damp wont do a thing, at two you're still pushing your luck. |

Edited by: Gaia Thorn on 09/08/2007 07:39:04 ehh i wouldnt want to get near anything in a covops they arent excatly known for their great tanking skills.
if you are setting up a tackler covops i would drop the webbers and go for 2 more damps. Giving you 3 damp and scram, and in low slot fit for speed. Highs covop cloak and recom probe launcher.
This way he wont be able to lock you while your gang mates are on their way in to help you. |

If you don't want to fight but just hold: 20/24km warp disruptor, 2 x damps
If you want to fight: 1. close up 2. attack, scram and perhaps web 3. use all ew at disposal to hinder him fighting back 4. close eyes and pray 5. ... 6. loss or profit |

Your suggestions make sense and your sig wins the forums. Thanks for both. |

If you find a frig who isn't moving I rekon with 2 damps, a web and a scram you may actually be able to take it down... or it may just perma tank you but it will be fun either way. |
