I thought the new pos stuff was supposed to make large gangs irrelevant. 10 man gangs blowing up the guns on pos and crap, lol, when they have hundreds of thousands of hitpoints. Wink


I would say they pretty much failed big time then wouldnt you.

atm is fleetfight in V7- they jumping in :-)
we warped to gate ... first guys called targets ... i didnt saw them went to kitchen made food ... came back still no targets me is eating ... after 15 mintues grid loaded got dmg but dont know from which enemy ... must be the other hostile part of the gang i didnt loaded so far ... im drinking beer now ... im listening the target calling me is searching the targets dont have them in overview ... me is thinking hey what im doing here and warp off ... guns never activated btw

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN IM REALY EXCITED

I warped in, could only see my FC and 1 hostile. Locked the hostile and activated guns then watched big brother for the rest of it. :D

I warp to the gate, nothing loads.. wait a long time.. finally.. i see a % of the enemy.. lock a few.. the count down timer comes up.. Cant see any locks.. FInally after ages get a lock.. guns wont fire.. target it dead.. I start taking shield dmg... bearing in mind the closest hostile is 150+ km away.. i start spamming warp.. my amror and shields slowly go.. hull gone.. dont even try and warp..

Another fun night.

offcourse i only loaded when battle had ended, but after the gate battles stuff were a littlebit better forme

although my repper stayed on all night while i pressed off and most targets died before my guns activated

and again truncated on carrier km, grr but oohwel aslong its death YARRRR!!

Today I joined a gang that made the journey to meet CoW on the fields of lag. I fully expected a 5 minute or better jump-in. I expected to appear in my pod. That's the game today, right?

Unfortunately I never got there. See, our scout had a 5 minute load time getting into the neighboring system. Then it was '20+ hostiles in system - none seem to be on gate.' Gang warped in. (Except for the NOOB who forgot to stop his ship after aligning.Laughing) Of course, there WERE hostiles on the gate and some of the gang was popped. Of course they knew this quite a bit later. So we gave up and went home.

The point of this is to ask a question. With 300+ in a system could they not have at least put it on its own node? Did they not notice that big orange dot on the map?

I am of the opinion everyone should stop harping on people complaining about this and get on the same side. The game is unplayable, everyone knows it, CCP won't comment on it. I would have much preferred losing a ship in a good fight than returning home from this farce.

Had a lot of fun rushing past and staying ahead of the hostile gang as they moved from S-E to 2-3, even went back a few times jumping into their system in their camp to see if they were actually following me :)

Then I made the monumental mistake of NOT jumping into v7- in front of them but rather AFTER... yeah. System didn't load for 10 minutes or so, I relogged (which took about 15 minutes) and when I actually came back into the game I saw my shield dropping, then my armor and then all 3 were red, didn't see a ship, bubble, hostiles or whatever tho.

Oh well.


Oh and tell Doom3r not to smack so much, when I probed his pod I uncloaked and kept him scrambled for a LONG time just for the fun of it before asking for 1 small ship to take him out. When people heard WHO I was holding there were quite a few more people coming over heh.

Well, it seems that it is high time that a hard coded limit is implemented as to how many people can enter a system (probably per corp/alliance or standings based). You have 50 people in there, sorry, you can't enter. Period.

Of course, we then would have to find a way to make sure that people won't try to get around that by making a thousand alt alliances.

In any case, even though I hate the concept, a hard limit to the amount of people in a system seems the only solution right now. There simply isn't any hardware available to cope with this, even if the software was more efficient.

Warped in in my dictor, gate seemed clear, only me on it yet targets were being called, roughly 5 minutes later 1 lonely hostile phantasm appear on screen/overview lol.

However around 10 minutes into the fight I almost completely de-lagged and could fly around with only 5 second delay and a full load of hostiles \o/

Guess I was a lucky oneLaughing

GF anyway, Friday was nowhere near as bad as today and yesterday for some reason =S

Same thing as yesterday for me only worse. Waiting 30 mins in empty space closed the client waited another 15 for the charactert to enter the game and by then it was over. got to shoot 2 people in the aftermath. How can anyone think this is ok and the game isnt broken is beyond me.

Yesterday was little better for me. Probably because it was like 100 vs 150 and not 200 vs 200. Few minutes to load the grid, 3-4 minutes to get the lock and another 3-4 minutes to activate the gun. I even managed to warp out with structure damage (it was a big surprise as I know I was tackled...).

Anyways, good fight Razor and friends.

You think the server can handle the number of peons on each side? What if all of a sudden you capture 2 enemy pieces in 2 moves, will that break the chessboard?

We try to keep an accurate killboard but there will always be a few in a large alliance that dont post losses. Just for clarification on that - M.PIRE is usually extremely accurate but during the weekend, it was down due to bandwith reasons so the MadHatters killboard was setup as alliance wide until the admin can set it back online. It will be synced ASAP. (As soon as the mpire admin and me can finally be online at the same time for other related stuff).

As for the rest... lagfest ftl and... I find funny people saying that getting the drones out when the enemy is near to jump is always to create lag. Rolling Eyes As if the FC would always say:

"They are coming - Be ready to lag them off".

It is usually much simpler than that.

"They are coming - Be ready to kill them all". And at that point, being ready for 99% of the involved is... to get their drones out to send them on the first target called.

Stop using this reason, it's crap.

See you on the field - it's fun... except for the lagfests of course. Smile

Those two entries are right next to each other in my log. During those ten minutes I was sitting at a gate with over a hundred hostiles and at least as many friendlies, at least those who weren't similarly lagged out, shooting each other.

I jumped in, e-warp out after a few minutes, warp back to the gate and nothing loads. Even warping out to that planet did nothing for my lag. It wasn't just the grid, it was the whole system and surrounding systems. I tried jumping back to M-U and crashed/hung mid-jump. Had to petition as stuck just so I could login again.

Lag sucks. It's CCPs fault. It's CCPs responsibility to fix it. There is NOTHING more important to the overall game than resolving this problem. Fsck heat and walking in stations and ANYTHING ELSE. FIX THE LAG, at any cost.

We canīt blame CCP for the servers, they are good. The problem is the gameplay, POS warfare, Capital Ship fights etc. are way to much to handle for the serverīs atm, especially if there are 400 ppl in system, 50 dreads powning a POS and other 100 ppl camping a gate with bubbles and drones at the same time.

So what can we do? We can report the problems, we can throw away our keyboard and yell "**** CCP, **** game, i am ****ed off!!" but we cant change the situation atm.
Deal with it and lets hope that CCP can fix that soon, but i think without changing many things in gameplay, no server on the world can handle those much data packages.

Well, loaded the hostiles/etc/whatever.

The camping party here apparently had rep drones and fighters out. Rep drones would be useless if the enemy didn't get lagged out on jump-in because of the scale of the battle, so their only constructive purpose was to lag out the opposition. This was either poor sportsmanship or a EULA violation (or both).

As for assigning fighters, it should be relatively well known at this point that many of the defending force will not see some or all hostiles, but some will. Because 5 fighters are better than 5 drones, it makes more sense for the carrier pilots to assign fighters once they know who can actually see enemies.

Simply, in such a situation the only logical reason to have drones out is to lag out your opposition. If you have to lag out your opposition/crash nodes/ruin gameplay for thousands of uninvolved players to defend your space, you don't deserve to hold the space.

Lagbombing your own node (or worse, all of TQ in some of the cascading failures we've seen recently) to avoid combat is lame. I can't believe you're endorsing it. What's next? Bomb threats to CCP's hosting facility?

Really? Complaining about lag when initiating a blob warfare in the current state of Eve is akin to spoiled toddler whining about getting wet when trying to sunbathe in thunderstorm.
Just dont bring blob.Simple.There are other methods and strategies to fight with, not only the time honored "i got bigga blob-I WIN!" strategy.

It won't happen. Due to people nature. Razor won't tell their allies to go home neither we will do it.
Im just impressed how Razor managed to gather up alliances from half of 0.0: Tenal, Tribute, Geminate, Vale of the Silent, Drone regions, what else? Good job on that part I guess.

all decent fleet should have 4 characters named like abonada acaluta adonis aegis. And fit 4 plate 3 trimmark armaggeddons to them. Its the best way to neutralize enemy fire :P
