Getting a lot of connection drops or server unavailable lately. Connection to these forums, Singularity and Multiplicity are snappy and reliable.

Sorry. No, really, I am sorry.
So what is the issue? System engineering and tuning is not that hard, I do it for a living. Poor application performance is normally just some ignorant developer who just doesn't know any better. And developers have no common skills with engineers, so they shouldn't be responsible for engineering. (Notice how a pod can stop and turn a freighter without even moving. Developers say "Ha! Ha! Cool.", engineers just fix it). CCP has money, hardware and opportunity. Far more often than not, the issue is probably people. It has been said and published many times, "It is always people". Smells like people, looks like people, sounds like people, it is most probably people.
Just a suggestion, no malice intended.
Maybe, instead of developers and economists, they should look for one or two good engineers, engineers who can competently manage a few technicians and service providers.
Rest in peace, Scotty, you did much more than should have been asked for.
