Spent the last 2 days in my arazu and I haven't seen a single warp scramble notice. This just got me killed - I couldnt tell which one of the 2 hostiles who had me locked had the point on me - (probably both knowing my luck) thus, didnt know which one to mwd away from. All my other notices (damage/criminal acts etc.) are working fine, so is this a new feature, or is this just a bug in my client?

it has always been nearly impossible to tell who/what is warp scramming you, or even if you are being warp scrammed until you try to warp.

the little popup messages go by too fast. but at least now there is a voice message (if you have sound enabled) when you attempt to warp while being scrammed.

imo, the speedometer should change colors while you are being warp scrambled, or even when webbed.

Agreed.. not knowing who is scraming you sucks.

And for that matter.. everyone knows the readout you can put up.. how about moving that so when you have it active so you can see who is jamming you or dampening you w/o having to turn it off since the text overlays the name of who is damping/jamming you.

I haven't had a warp scrambling notify in weeks, if not months. I have no clue why. I've even reinstalled my entire OS since that needed to be done anyway, and I still didn't receive them.

and when you are being affected by multiple forms of EW i think it only shows one, if any. and i have never ever seen one for being warp scrammed.

To be honest, an entire rethinking of status notifications is required.

Many have been begging for this for a long time and some good solutions have been provided.. Still no love from CCP.

You know there is a forum that allows users to request new features..

Like, Warp Scramble indicator, Visible Aggression timer, and no reset on zoom when jumping system. These things have been asked for years...but instead we get Heat. Did anyone ask for that?

Does CCP just ignore everything the customers ask for. I mean...walking in stations...ffs, please point me to the thread that requested that. There are requests going back for years that are completely ignored.

I do have to have a little chuckle at the "CCP staff need to be immersed in large alliances so that they understand the mechanics of the game"

It seems that your staff have been afk for years. Not a single problem from alliance fleet battles, large scale conflicts, or POS wars has been addressed. WTF have these guys been doing Question

+10 points for posting without reading the thread.

The thread is about the only current warp scramble notice disappearing, not about a new prospective warp scramble indicator.

Well at least 1 of my happy wishes will come true...
From patch notes:

EW timers appearing just above the ship UI have been moved up slightly so as to not overlap the ship's readout.

Basically, the effect for warp scrambling, webbing etc should have a visible source, like nos does. That is, if they dont want to go all the way and show it in a redesigned overview that shows what ship is doing what to whom.

You can increase how long that message stays on your screen. Locate your "prefs.ini" and look for this line:

messagePeriod=200

Change the number to something like 500 to increase the duration of the message, lower it to make it blink away quickly.

NOTE: This changes the duration for EVERY on-screen notification such as "You cannot do that while warping" and combat messages, etc.

Indeed, we should have an overview column with little icons for ewar effects on yourself. Although I'd rather have stuff removed from the *%$+ slow and buggy overview and a status notification window added, where mentioned target names can be clicked and locked.

Warp scram does have a visual like NOS. it's not very easy to see however.

Take a friend out (or alt) and warp scram him, now look at your ship.

It's sending out a light blue "circle" of energy directed at the guy your scramming. it does this repeatedly until you stop.

NPC's have the same thing. If you want to tell who is scramming you, click on them, and click on the eye in your overview to zoom in on them and inspect, and after a bit of close examination you will be able to see if they are the one doing it.

Also, use http://eveinfo.com/npcships/ learn about NPC's that DO use scram and memorize which ones do. so next time you get around any you will know which to kill first.

It does.
You need to see it once or twice to get used to it, as it's not obvious.

But anyway, /signed, the ship logs are useless for determining what modules are affecting your ship in heavy combat, and a lot of people have effects turned off.
Just a bar with scrammed, jammed, NOSd, etc.. indicators would be cool.

The problem here is that when a large gang is attacking you it could be any (or all) of them and spening precious seconds looking for an almost invisible effect will get you killed. The effect should be swapped with the armour repair or shield repair effects which are a lot more visible.

Easy solution... Well, maybe not easy, but hella lot more revealing:

Place modules being used against you by the target on the left side of that target on your active targets bar at the top of the screen.

If a non-targeted ship has an active module on you that ship should somehow be identified as they are now via the EW indicator bar above your center HUD.

Just put a rolling text just above the modules that lets you know who is scrambling you at any time.

That notification is just as likely to get lost in a horde of damage messages. We need something big red and blinky that tells you you are royally screwed. Whether you should see who is doing what to you is up for debate but since the graphical effects give you some kind of indication on who's doing what so I don't see a reason why we wouldn't want to display that in the UI other than not wanting to overload it.

Anyways I'm poking and prodding people, people are writing designs and stuff. I'd like to see "what" is being done to you asap even if it doesn't show "who" is doing it (although I'd like very much to see that as well).

How about adjusting the graphic?

After all, it's almost impossible to miss when a NOS or web is being used on you (unless your effects are off), but that dim blue pulse thing is extremely hard to see against many of Eve's backgrounds.

make a new overview row thingy that will show all outside modifiers being done to your ship. like:

it would show... (editing to show more)

Type | Duration | Effect | Pilot

Type could either be an icon or an acrynom (WS = warp scramble, ECM = ECM obviously, etc)

so something like:

WS | [timer] | 2 | Karl Chroimcer
Web | [timer] | 90% | Karl Chroimcer
ECM | [timer] | Yes | Karl Chroimcer
ARP | [timer] | Lrg | Someone Friendly

arp = armor repair

something like that maybe?

Missions are easy. Shoot the guys closest to you and work out. In the event you warped in with some distance to play with the shoot order is smallest to largest.

Its the PVP aspect that kills me.
