Suggestion - something that calculates cap stability relative to a set number of cap boosters. Its great that I am "cap stable" when switching to 800's but how many can I fit in my cargo - and how long will my cap really last are questions that would be great to calculate answers too.

Best eve tool ever. Keep up the good work - and see you around Stain.

Ok, I'll bite. There isn't a manual, of course. EFT is self-explanatory to anyone who plays eve. What exactly do you think you need a manual for? Laughing

Does it take into account the new changes to Rook/Falcon/Stealth Bombers etc?

2.10.1 does not (at least not Rooks which I checked last night)

I'd like to make a request: Expose a plugin interface to the program. That would allow other developers to add small features and not have to bother you for it (like calculating known WH effects, or adding some additional DPS calculations/tweaks (average DPS at range with given presets).

It doesn't have the changes to the bombers either.

First off awsome program, ese it to work out almost every fit. also when will there be a patch or release to take into account the new changes (not trying to rush you or anything, just asking for an estimate) also havok's idea sounds good and I second it.

A very good and useful program, keep up the good work.

Feature request:

Automatic patching.

I know this may make EFT bloat in size and complexity, but an automatic updating function would make this very functional tool even more functional and would prevent re-installation bugs and other hassles.

The act of unpacking EFT does not remove any fittings. You may have unpacked it into a new directory, or in some other way done it incorrectly, so they didn't overlap, or your old fits would still be there. They are probably still on your computer, if you just find them and copy them to the appropriate directory.

I know you are working on it already, but do you have an estimated time frame for the release of the next update which includes the changes recently made to Eve by CCP?

WFI, love the link from Eve Mon to a Battle-clinic load out to EFT. Keep up the good work!

OFC, you guys dont realize how hard to correctly implement that is.

The program is perfect right now, imo, maybe i'd change the way it asks for the manual removal of modules when unfitting a subsystem, like just automatically removing them going bottom up, and adding a caption on each subsystem enumerating the amount of slots provided like:
"Legion Defensive - Adaptive Augmenter +1L/+1H" with the info on the Charges column or something like that.

Anyway, great job as always, i imagine you'll be coding the new changes to SB's and ECM boats just because of falcon.

Take care, and thanks for all the fish.

Hi, I'm getting this error when I try to import my character:
"must provide user ID parameter" even when I type in my EVE account ID and paste in the API key. Anyone else getting this or know how to fix it? Could it be a problem that my user ID starts with a digit?

Can you add a feature where one can search for a ship by name, instead of just by race and through drop down tab's?

Your user ID is made entirely from digits. You're not using your account name are you?

Just a quick note to the Developer(s). My friends and I call the progeam Eve Crack Tool. We have spent almost as much time playing with loadouts as playing the game. It is a very easy progam to use and the ability to import multiple characters is awesome - I have 8 api's loaded. Bonusing takes some practice, but figuring ship loadouts is a piece of cake. Hope to see the new update soon for SB's. An autoupdate feture would be nice, if feasable, but not necessary.

I seem to have a problem with the import function, shown in the following picture:
http://www.teamswe.se/images/eftwtf.jpg

If I do tab and hit enter the fitting will load.

Any ideas how to fix this? DPI issue or something?

EDIT: nvm, was a DPI issue for some reason.

I downloaded the EFT 2.10.1 and I am trying to fit a Manticore, with Arbalest Siege Missiles Launcher and with a Covert Ops Cloaking Device but it doesn't work, did I downloaded the wrong version or the Stealth Bomber section is not updated ye?
Thanks for the help, and thanks for EFT, it helps a lot

If you check closly, the new EFT came out before Apo 1.1. So its not in there yet.

It would be really useful if we were able to edit the datafiles ourselves. For a start, it would be really useful if a new patch came out a few days after thte latest EFT version, with brand new ship stats, and we desperately wanted to see how our newly torpedo equipped stealth bomber was best fit, just by way of random example....

Secondly, I imagine a large part of updating EFT is spent updating datafiles. With the userbase EFT has, user editable datafiles would mean the users would surely keep them updated. That'd take a lot of the load off Gripen.

Alternatively, is there a way to interface with the Eve database and automatically pull the current ship/item attributes directly from there?

@Irn Bruce: After every patch, sooner or later, is released a new database by CCP. The format changes are fully in hands of CCP. Gripen is, so I believe, exporting this CCP original into some database engine EFT use and modifies EFT to be compatible with database format changes under EFT hood. Thus database editor is probably not possible as it is one-way process and only by Gripen.

@Grippen: I wonder if you could as a new feature introduce capacitor simulator. That capacitor stability state based on peak consumption and peak recharge rate is a bit rough. It would have good use for all capital pilots and sub-cap pilots will prolly better understand their ships.

Entrance point could be in File menu, where you open capacitor simulator window. It would show 2d plot with x-axis time and y-axis cap %. Curve(s) present in plot would be either preset:

with 10% starting cap without mods used (for chain jumping)
with 20% start cap with mods active in ship screen
with 30% start cap with mods active in ship screen

or there would be entrance field for cap starting state in % and only active modules in fit would be used to plot 1 curve only.

Plot would have rulers cutting x-axis at points where cap reaches 70% and 80% (if it gets up to there).

If starting cap input field would be used, an extra ruler cutting y-axis to show cap stable percentage could be handy (if fit is cap stable of course).

I guess you have all infos needed--capacitor paramters and module consumption and their cycles collected. EFT would have a perfect chance to do a tick based simulation with full resolution of different module cycles.

It would allow quick analyze of recharge times for cases like chain jumping (10%->80% cap) or emergency jumps out after siege (20%/30%->70% cap with modules active). Dread fleets could for example avoid usual mess with waiting on one or two stupidly fitted colleages with loong recharge time. Dreads could be as well better tanked without over-recharging, when you know you get enough cap to jump out after siege.

Wouldn't it be really awesome if EFT would collaborate with EVE ? So you make a fit in EFT, save it ... and then import it in EVE so you can build it straight away and visa versa....

Btw EFT rocks! Hope the new version comes out quickly.
