CCP I have put over a dozen people selling isk on my "Block" list today.

Something needs to be done..

Can you look at doing something along the lines of not allowing "Trial" characters in the market channels? Or only allowing them to post in the help channels.. something..
Please.. I'm tired or reading:
Quote:
xxxxxx > OwnbozoYο.com - EVE Online Gold Trading Center - As low as $64.93/1000 M ISK

-OR-
Quote:
xxxxxx > Get EVE GOLD at http://www.igs3655685.com.Make the game easier.Enjoy the game to the fullest.<br>24/7 Fast Delivery !

not to mention countless other spam messages..
I have petitioned countless people.. but this is just nuts.. It ties up the petition queue.. and take CCP's time to ban these people..

One thing you can do to help CCP out on this, is to xxxxxx out their websites so that you are not helping them advertise. ugh Wink

Disallow trial accounts from post on trade chans would help a lot imho.

What they need to do is make the trial account giving more robust and make it harder for the same person to make ANOTHER trial account.

This will stop when people stop buying isk. Until then...

So, start petitioning your ISK-buying-friends.

Simple fix, we've had it on the forums for years... *filters*

I can't say cr*ck, ni**er, or any of a host of other words profane and laughably not. Port that over as a filter on the newb channels (or, for that matter *ALL* channels) but not for the same stupidly inane profanity filters used on these forums, but entirely focused on the small list of names used in URLs.
Find an isk-selling website, turn it's XYZ.whatever address into a series of meaningless stars.

Voila, isk spammers slowed down to a crawl trying to establish new ways to get their links across.

Several things ccp should put in:

- ability to block whole npc corps
And yes sorry i know very harsh for the legit new players but some people really dont want to put up with this worthless spam at any time because i allready get sad enough putting up with it in reallife, dont need my game to go the same way.

I realise it might give problems with agent eve mails but those should be revamped anyway so they dont work with the eve mail system anyway.
Storylines make an log in the journal so why not put it in there completely includeing destinations / agent stations that can be right clicked.

- badword filters
Works to an certain degree but affcourse once they know they will just spam random url's all leading to the same site.

- better manageability of the cspa - block / allowed system
Add an ability to CSPA charge by standings set.
This would make sure that you can charge people with - settings or neutral settings and that people with + settings wont be charged.
There should also be an option to apply this useing your corp or your alliance settings (this should be an choice that you can enable / disable).
* another extra should also be to completely block off eve mails, gang invites and conversation requests for anyone except people with + standings set by you to them

Additionally it would remove the need to add friends to addressbook just so they can message you without charge (and it prevents the auto opening of chat / gang invites).

Also there should be varying settings for eve mail, gang invite, conversation etc.
This would mean that i could set a 100 isk charge to a gang invite, an 1.000.000 isk charge to eve mail and 25.000 isk charge for starting an conversation.

On top of that it should also be possible to enable / disable various services.
For example i might never want to recieve gang invites or eve mails but i might want to recieve conversation invites though.

Add new tools for gm's to mark an specific email / sender as "bad" and let it autodelete all eve mails that are generated from the same sender (only on non logged in accounts though to prevent weird lockup situations of double deletes etc).

Possibly consider tieing certain words / combination of words (urls) to an GM early warning system so they can monitor an specific account more closely (includeing the ability to chatban right on the spot).
Make obsessive chat spamming of the same message raise a flag (yes they can work arround that affcourse so make it an perimeter system flagging certain large parts combinations too if possible).

After and only after that is done consider putting in an hard cap for trial accounts like can send no more then 10 eve mails per X ammount of time.

/edit added another option (see *)
Eve just really need all these advanced settings because alot of people are not patient with things like this or may even despise it alot and it can cost customers if there is just no way arround them.

Eve doesnt need a filter like that, 95% of eve players are adultsRolling Eyes

Just filter out known isk-seller sites. Also, start handing out ip bans for repeat offenders

IP bans wont work if they dont have static IP's and it might actually cause an legit person to run into an banned IP problem.

Filters for known addresses works to a certain degree.
Once they find out there is such a system inplace they will just spam random url's leading to the same site.

Same problem over on SWG. People abusing the trial accounts, creating toons to spam there macro adds every 5 seconds, clutering up the chat boxes. Wouldent doubt it if some of the websites were the same as here.

According to my forum hax, U didnt say it today, U filter'd urself hehe...

Voogru is correct tho, making it harder to make an account would be a good start, requiring a valid CC to make an account? Or possibly even requiring a email verification on top of that (not from hotmail or gmail or that type of account tho)..

I have a excellent fix (but no one ever listens to me)...
They currently can block you from speaking in a room.. lets now add a new filter... something that keeps your text from being seen!!!!

So a guy starts spamming wts isk for $$$.. and he gets his text hidden to everyone but himself ;P... So he thinks he's sending text, but alas, no one is seeing it!.. guy sits in room all day thinking "woohoo, I got around the gm barstuards"

but hey, that's just me ;P ..
just fyi, I rekon a lot of these isk selling sites are out there not to sell isk, but to steal your CC details, or game login details..

had the same issue in wow
same solution would help
like the op said, bar trial accounts fron market channels

but blocking npc corps screws the people that want to get into a corp when new
then again most corps dont want people while they are on a trial account anyways...
I dont know where I was going with this now Confused

Seriously.. I mean, I don't generally care about what goes in chat, but having to constantly block spambots is getting rather old. Add something to the EULA so you legal recourse against the businesses or something, even if you can't actually pin them down to sue them, go after their credit card processor, that'd slow things down for them.
(Not a lawyer, have no interest in being one, but it seems like a good idea to me)
