What's the deal with research agents when the last BPOs of the lottery are given out?

They will still tot up research points that you can cash in for something to do with invention I guess?

Only thing is, certain research fields give a *2 research points per day bonus etc.
How is that going to be balanced out?

They're called datacores, and are a good way to generate passive income if you know which fields are in highest demand.

It's an entirely player-driven market segment, prices are self-correcting based on supply and demand.

Ah, that makes sense. So there will be three times as many of some types of datacores, but they'll probably be roughly a third of the price of some others when it all balances out.

No, because the RP cost for a datacore is also multiplied by the field multiplier.

Correct, so in theory, when it all balances out, all datacores should cost about the same.

Ah, OK, that makes sense too. Maybe I should just try it! Wink

Which is why if you have tons of RP's in Mechanical, Molecular, Quantum, Nanite or other rarely used research area, you should cash in now. There are litterally billions to be made, but in a couple of months when the rest of the BPO's are out, prices will crash. And crash badly.

Lol! Atm, the datacore is Mechanical Engineering. it is used in 21% of all module invention, 41% of rigs and 100% of ships. It wasn't the most popular field before invention so the cores are worth a lot more than most (like 2-3mil vs. a couple hundred k per core)

all BPOs will be converted to 10000 run BPCs in revelations 2 ( good time to sell cheap to unsuspecting types) now before hand

or a good time to scare people into selling cheep on something that won't happen.

Devs have not said this. People have asked for it. If it were going to happen why bother with another lottery at all

Yes, of course they will. Because players keep saying that it MUST be true.

haha,
hahahahhaha
ha ha.

But yes, erm, datacores. The prices are going to crash so much that if you feel you simply can't win the lottery, you should probably cash out while the getting is still good.
