When undocking from a station, I thought you were invulnerable for 15 seconds...is this true? Can you be immediately bumped and if so , does this change your invulnerability status?

Situation: I undocked in 0.0 and I was fired on and podded within 10 seconds (when I thought I would have been able to redock).

Could have been lag, but I'm not jumping to conclusions. I think I may have been bumped - I was surrounded by several ships. Not crying exploit, just want to understand for next time Twisted Evil ...

bumping counts as movement on your part AFAIK as I've used it to catch macro haulers

1. You are invulnerable for 30? sec.
2. You can be bumped.
3. IF you are bumped - you are still invulnerable.
4. IF you move/activate module - your invulnerability status ends.
5. Due to undocking lag your 30? sec invulnerabilty status may end before you see something on screen.

You could have been smartbombed. I don't think you're invulnerable, you just can't be locked. Or might be wrong.

And with undocking: you are unlockable for a stretch of time (15, 20, 30 seconds, I dunno), UNLESS you take control of your ship (activate any mods, reload or move your ship in space) (being bumped doesn't count).

Bear in mind that it's a minimum of 15 seconds to redock after you undock, due to the session change timer (like you can't use a jumpgate immediately after joining/leaving a gang), so if you're going to have a look outside, for God's sake stay still for at least 15 seconds, so you can redock if you start getting a pounding.

1) Yes, 30.
2) No, youll fly right through the person that just undocked.
3) See 2.
4) Correct.
5) Yup, though that can be petitioned apparently.

Thanks for the replies. Seems odd that I was able to be locked so fast. I did nothing (move/activate modules). I guess it was the "lag" and 30 seconds had passed from the moment I clicked undocked(althought it certianly didn't "seem" like it). Now I know...cheers...

If you tried to re-dock and it was too soon I think that makes you targetable as well.

about smartbombs - they don't work within a certain range of a station

Classic mistake, since you can't redock for 30 seconds. So if you try to immediately redock, invulnerability ends, and you are a sitting duck.

1 mississippi, 2 mississippi, ... 30 mississippi, redock! Cool
