The login music is a bit off imo.. doesn't sound very space like, and doesn't really go along with the rest of the eve music... sounds too much like something out of WoW or some other such jibberish.

However the ingame tracks are stellar as always. I'd like to see the old login music added to the ingame songs.. or am i mistaken and they've already done that?

That's really interesting. I unstuffed an old pre-patch music file (to get the old login music) and there's this EVE Theme song I've never head before which sounds really different from all the other music. I like it!

Does it play this when I win or what?

I think i know which one your talking about, it hasn't been used in ages, as it was an old login theme. You will also find in the .stuff files the mission running songs that you SOMETIMES hear when you engage a warp gate.. But not all the time, and there is no way to select those songs in game manually.. much to my dismay.

TBH i play the eve songs in a media player, with ingame sound disabled.. to reduce lag, and be able to choose songs I otherwise would not be able to play. Very Happy

Well they sound much better in winamp than in Eve I think. I'm hearing details in these songs that were probably lost in exploding missiles and gurgling warp sounds.

But I can't find the old login music, the pre 1.4 one. Anyone know where that is or what its called?

I still wish they'd put in Stellar Shadows and Theme of the Universe in,,, track 1 and 42 ambient fyi. They're pretty cool. I just mute sound in game and play those (or the combat tracks) while i play :)

That's strange, the extracted music don't hear like in the game.

How to obtain the same "rendering" I feel nostalgic about the ingame tone?

I really should turn music back on and give these a listen Embarassed

I really loved the old pre-Exodus login theme but my only issue with that was that it was way too long. it was about 2m inutes before you began to hit the meat of the track and who is going to sit there on login screen for 2+minutes in case the track gets better?

WTB shortened pre-Exodus login music Wink

Frug: It is called "ShivaTheme003d.ogg"

Filatov: That is very strange. The sound engine in the game uses FMOD to handle the playback of OGG material, I'd think it would sound the same no matter which player you are using.

Others: Sorry for the lack of "space"-yness

But it's clear than these OGG sounds different played in a regular winamp (sounds more accurate, a lot more detailed, a VERY lot) that I was used to hear ingame.

Like Ingame setting are set to don't imper the performances.
But I like the ingame rendering, and I'm looking to reach the same result in my outgame player.

Times of Sangunity is really good, well done!

As an old Eve player, I still regret the mainly first login track (Stellar Shadows, Ambient001.ogg), which its 2nd part reflects so well the Eve atmosphere.

Maybe a day, we could download this one as a high quality MP3 from the website music page... 'would be great. I'm also fond of the Safe Trade Routes tracks (original and DnB versions), but as well, nothing to download in high quality.

Come on guys, my iPod is awaiting! ^^

Thanks RealX. I found it inside resDungeons.stuff if anyone else is looking. I will cherish it for ever and ever. The new stuff just can't top that old theme, it's too perfect. The haunting ticking and droning... *drools* No doubt ccp wanted new content but I'm sad to see it go.

I think all the eve music sounds plenty spacey, but that may be because I only hear it in space. It definitely influenced the new game experience well for me.
I'm quite fond of Times of Sanguinity, and for the pre 1.4 stuff, theme of the universe is pwn.

Kyozoku: Ambient56, Ambient57, Ambient58, and Revelations14

Yeah revelations14 is the new login tune. Sounds excellent in my own opinion. Made me find an extractor right away and get it out. :)

Keep the new sound coming!

Which version of FMOD are they using ? No wonder people have issues with onboard sound support. I believe the newer versions fixed alot of the issues that FMOD had in relation to Realtek onboard chipsets. About time they fixed or replaced it isn't it ?

Anyone needing/wanting to convert the files to mp3 should google "SUPER by eRightSoft", it will even convert for your Nokia phone ;)

Kind of a late reply but thanks RealX. I had just fired up the test server on a copied client and was shocked to hear the new music, really impressive stuff. It would be nice if Stellar Shadows was kept in the game, it's still my favourite. Pre-Dragon-code-update when we could still modify our audio/other game files I had switched Stellar Shadows back to the login screen music. It's hard to explain the feeling of first opening EVE and creating your first ever character, all of my friends from that era of EVE say the exact same thing.

Anyhow, thanks again for the new tracks!

Hehe, Shiva003 ftw, I miss this music. :)

Isn't this what played like, before Revelations? Or is this song just so embedded in my head I forgot?

It's been soo long since i last listened to the ingame music...

So i did just now and got all nostalgic and fogged up (ok i made up the fogged up part)

It reminded me on my early days running around in my velator and using my basic mining laser Smile

Bring back the first launcher. Big blue EVE sign rotating, and the most awesome music ever. I was watching some of the videos on this site, and one of that came up, and even after so long it brought back the feeling of what EVE was. I always thought it was just because I've been in the game so long and seen so much, but when I heard that, the atmosphere it creates made me feel like the first time I ever logged on in beta.

I miss that feeling Sad

When they fix their sound engine, I'll listen. I still can't play ingame music for more than ten minutes before its buffering and skipping horribly.
