Most appreciated feature would be an in-game calculator and a notepad-style journal, where you can write your notes. Calculator wouldn't have to have many options, just the basics: +, -, * and / would do, then you can calculate %'s etc. This would be needed for example to calculate some money dividents when corp is group mining and other stuff like that. The notepad...well you can figure out the use for that one yourself. It's a bugger to write all these notes I need to take with paper and pen. Alt+tabbing to desktop is out of the question if you play on fullscreen mode... it hangs the game at least for me.

just my 2 isk.

would be most usefull...
perhaps not for me, since I always play windowed, but still...
I mean, I always have Calc and Notepad up and running while I run eve...
so it would be very usefull to have ingame for those who don't want to play windowed

It could help you too, Ra'Wyrm Dracoz and other window-mode players... when you got your wallet transactions page up and running to see for how much you sold the minerals for example, you could have the calculator beside it and could look the prices at the same time when using the calculator. Now you have to drag your EVE window down to see transactions at the same time with windows calculator or minimize the eve window to use calc (and therefore can't see the transactions at the same time)right?
Hmmmh... maybe I should just buy one of those cheap calculators from super-markets,but the notepad would be nice though ;)

I was thinking about this myself. Does anyone know if the in-game browser supports javascript? If it does, I am sure a calculator would be easy to do.

I just found this one:

no the ingame browser doesn't support java script. in fact it barly supports HTML 1.0.

The browser is one of the features tha makes EVE stand out from the rest of the MMORPG games. and should be capitalized on. ie more up to date HTML standard and maybe python scripting in the we page.

personaly i believe Tribes 2 had the best In game web browser. not only was it more powerfull then the one in eve but each clan had a website hosted by Sierra. And tribes 2 isn't even an MMOG. CCP could do better with the browser but it's still a great feature. besides if it were too good of a browser that would slow the game down.

In a way, you are right, but it would only slow down the client for the person that was browsing a content-heavy web-site.

If that person gets slowed down to the point of frustration, then they would either need to upgrade their computer, increase the bandwidth of their internet connection, or scale back on the web-sites they are looking at while playing the game.

Personally, I doubt I would have a problem with using a more feature-rich browser on my dual XEON 2.2GHz system, with a Ti-4800 graphics card, and my ADSL connection, but that's just me... lol

Nope you can use calculator and notepad better than that if you use nview (With an nvidia video card) - set their windows to "always on top".

I play dual screen with Eve on one (windowed) and notepad, calculator and some other tools on the other usually.

Having said all that, if dual monitor support ever works properly then an in game calculator and notepad are going to become *really* usefull and important to me.
